We were suppose to spent one night at Gangtok as a halt before travelling to North Sikkim. We were impressed with the reviews and ratings of this specific hotel and decided to book this. There were specifically reviews about how good the location is and how close it was to MG Marg. And it turned out to be our biggest mistake as we found out most of the reviews were fake. Firstly, the location is far-off from the city center. It will take a downhill walk of around 20 minutes to reach MG Marg. On your way back, there is no other option than to book a taxi to reach the hotel. Secondly, the food price at this hotel is exorbitantly high vis-a-vis the quantity and quality of food served. Trust me, a plate of rice which costed around 100 INR will be served in a soup bowl and will not not be sufficient for a single person. On our return journey from North Sikkim, we managed to book a hotel near MG Marg and was surprised to find the rates of any standard hotel in prime location is around 50% cheaper than what Hotel Kaso is charging. Moreover, they will charge you 10% extra if the food needs to be served at room.(menu attached) Thirdly and most importantly, the owner of this hotel Mr. Ranjan is an illiterate in hospitality and has no idea how to treat their guests. And like him, he has kept the helpers in the hotel who are rough and ill-behaved. We were given rooms 3 floors below ground level and we had women in our group who had hard time climbing stairs due to health issues. When we asked the food to delivered in room stating this reason, we got response from the owner that this is no reason for the women to come upstairs and have their food. There are also sound restrictions in this hotel and you are only allowed to speak softly in your rooms. And during checking out when you are preparing to leave the room, the owner will send his two stooges to investigate your room in front of you. Only if they give a green signal, you will be allowed to leave. This is the most sickening hotel I have ever been to and the most disgusting hotel owner I have met. In short, please avoid this hotel at any cost if you dont want to lose your money and peace of mind.

First of all your response shows how illiterate you are in terms of hospitality You have raised some points which I want to respond to #stopping u from smoking in the corridor - We have never smoked in the corridor. So please stop lying. I think you have put surveillance cameras in all the floors. Please rewatch them and stop cooking up these nonsense stories to save your back. #because we stopped you from making noises after you had unlimited alcohol - First of all, your hotel allows alcohol consumption - as stated in the hotel rules in MMT. And you have assumed that we have consumed unlimited alcohol, just because we asked the food to be delivered in room. This shows how big an idiot you are. And FYI, we paid extra for delivering that food in our room. Secondly, there were only two other families in your entire hotel during our stay. So, your hotel was almost empty. I know it as I checked the register while checking in. So your stories about people complaining because we were making noise doesn't hold good. #vomitting in the Balcony - Yes, we had a child in our group who vommitted due to the long trip and as you are running a hotel with so called room service its your job to clean it out.
Next time, before whining and crying like a baby, understand that you are running a hotel and providing service to your customers in exchange of money. You are not providing charity that people will behave and act as per your unstated and imaginary rules. Lastly, don't brag about being rough and hostile. On the day we arrived, we were given only 3 rooms despite our complete booking of 4 rooms. It was quite a harassment and we had to take another room in another hotel. I asked for wifi password, they gave me a wrong password intentionally. The food had hair in it on both the days. Because my son after motion sickness at the end of the day today vomited outside the premises, they asked us to clean it with mop and water and actually we had to do it. When requested to upgrade room view Owner rudely denied, and asking for 500 which we were willing to pay for next stay. And when next stay we arrived found dirty stinky food marks on full bed, called 3-4times to clear it.
