Belle Vue Boutique Homestay — Hotel in Tamil Nadu

A classic example of a good property ruined by bad management.

I booked the hotel for 3 nights via Goibibo and I get a call on the day of arrival that there’s been some maintenance work and will have to shift to another hotel called Lobosa Comforts.He promised that the hotel is much better than Bellevue.

I was anyways arriving late at night and I agreed to his request. We checked into the hotel and it’s the most shadiest hotel that you can find.

1. The balcony door kept making creaking noise throughout the night.

2. The room was in the ground floor and the balcony can be easily accessible by any outsiders,definitely a concern of safety especially when travelling with family.

3. Not even a bottle of water in the room and the receptionist said the water in jugs was fresh.

I dis raise this concern the very next day and he said he’d make some alternate arrangements.

Checkedin to the bellevue the next day,Voila surprises again.

Most uncomfortable mattresses that you can ever find

You’d spent half of the time finding the caretaker for a coffee or water. Apparently the guest stole their kettle.

The same night I asked the caretaker if he can setup a bonfire and he asked me to pay whopping INR 2000 for it.

I went to the market and picked up firewood the next day for INR 300 and then came the new rule that bonfire has to be put off by 9:30PM.

I clearly told Haroon that I need the refund for the first day and he mentioned he’ll get me an update after talking to the management. He’s been dodging...

I had made a booking via MakeMyTrip. But the day before the check-in date, while I was on my way to Coonoor, one Mr.Pratap contacted me via WhatsApp, saying my reservation had to be cancelled because of a plumbing problem.

I said ok after he agreed to issue me the refund via Google Pay right away. Because I was not sure how convoluted the process will be to get my money back, or how long it will take. As it was a non-refundable reservation that's already been fully paid.

But then he asks ME to cancel the reservation, before he can give me the refund. I refused. He was the one who contacted me to say he is canceling my reservation. I said he can cancel my reservation from his account. What if he doesn't give me a refund after I cancel a non-refundable reservation? And after that, there was no response from him.

So I contacted MakeMyTrip and explained the situation. Thankfully, they took care of the issue and issued...

We had booked all 4 rooms for 2 days Pros: It's a well maintained old building in a great location Rooms are spacious, well decorated and comfortable The Private Garden is nice and well maintained. Co-operative staff

Cons- They still use old spring mattresses and pillows which are not really comfortable. They can be replaced with memory foam mattress There is no kettle in the room. In this kind of weather, we should be able to heat the water easily. 3 House keeping person is not present at the property all the time. In case we need something, we have to roam around...
