We booked a suite room there for 2 mights and three days. The room was spacious. There was ample open parking space available inside their property. The cable connection was not working on day one. One staff came and established the connection. But again the connection got cut. Nobody did anything on it. The telephone ☎️ was just a piece of decor. It was not working. We had to walk down stairs to contact room service or reception. Upon reporting the non functionality of the telephone, receptionist have us the visiting card of their GM and asked us to contact him. The GM said the telephone connection is due to some cabling issues, and it will take some time. We were given two mobile numbers to contact for any room service. The third day morning, the geyser stopped working. Right from day one, the water kettle plug point was not working due to lose connection in the plug point. We had to make it work at other plug point in the room. The towels used on day one were mot removed or replaced even after asking to do housekeeping on day two. Now, talking about the complimentary breakfast and dinner included in the package, the quality of the food and the service was were poor. Guest had to walk away without getting tea and coffee on time. Though there were hardly under 10 guests each day. Cold food was served. Options were very scanty in the buffet. Music played was loud. Very poor and unprofessional staff at the restaurant. Christmas eve dinner was announced to us as a gala dinner, and it was just cold naan and rice and curries. We had to start eating at an uncleared table. That table was not cleared by the staff, until we approached the manager. And this dinner was served on the terrace in the cold chilly winter. No arrangements were done to keep the good warm. The quality of the food was below average. The spread was thin for a gala dinner 😜 Restaurant did not had any handwash. The charges what the hotel is taking currently is too high compared to the services they are providing. The value for money is 3/5. The property is spacious and the scope for improvement in their services is huge. They have a location advantage.

Hotel Vivek, Coonoor Stayed here for a month during Nov-Dec 2018. They have increased the tariff from last years and the complimentary breakfast is now available for Standard Room also which was not provided earlier. Smooth check in, helpful reception, compact standard rooms and spacious deluxe rooms. Ample parking space, beautifully maintained lawns and garden. Excellent Ambience with greenery all around. The downers are : Since the place is let out for weddings and other functions also, it can get noisy at times. No 24-hrs hot water for Standard Rooms. Only available in the mornings. The hot water timings are from 6 am and it's muddy coloured on most days. Got to bathe in this. Buffet breakfast is the same everyday - small spread of Pongal, Idly, WHITE plain dosa from dosa maker. Omelet on request only. No change in the menu. Not even the crispy vadai or occasional Poori masala which are standard menu in Tamil Nadu. Since tourists stay only for a couple of days, they won't feel this spread as monotonous. Then comes the monkey time around 8:30/ 9am onwards when a troop of them roam around the balconies, corridors, bath room sunshades, all over the place. If you want a back scrub, keep you bathroom window open and the monkey will jump in. It's really scarry; you can't easily shoo them away. They are hostile and jump into your room regardless of your presence. Please ensure all doors, windows are latched during this time for your safety or leave the place and go for sightseeing. The management must discuss with forest department and find a solution to this menace. I had to shift to Ooty for two reasons; one.. they hiked the tariff from Dec second week eventhough its cold and off season; two.. The Monkey Menace which was too Scary!!! But still, it's the best place in Coonoor, with reasonable tariff and ample parking inside their compound.

What an "exquisite" experience! I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a perfect blend of deception and disappointment. Their website promises a luxurious stay, but in reality, it's a den of lies and overcharging. Paying Rs 5172 for a room that's barely worth Rs 1000 is an absolute steal. The staff are not to blame for the atrocious conditions. They behaved really well and helped us in the way they could. It's the management that deserves all the credit for robbing tourists blind. At least the food was good! I mean, who cares if the room smells like a dumpster and doesn't even have a cupboard (yea! You read it right! There were no storage space and even a chair)! The bread halwa made from leftover bread crumbs and gulab jamun remains from the previous day was a true culinary masterpiece. Maybe that's the reason why the bedspreads and pillows weren't changed - so that you could savor the scent of the delightful dish while you sleep - we found hairs and dirt on the bedsheets! And let's not forget the balcony with a view to another room's window - talk about privacy! Changing rooms didn't help either, but who needs a clean and comfortable space to relax on vacation anyway? And of course, the icing on the cake was the light that didn't work in the middle of the night, providing you with a truly authentic and unforgettable experience. Overall, if you're looking for a vacation that will leave you feeling scammed, cheated, and utterly disgusted, this is the perfect place for you. You're welcome! Note: I'm asking my wife to write a separate review. You don't deserve even a 1-star rating! Scammers!

Marked as a one star hotel but I would rate them no less than three star hotels. The ambiance, the service are all of high standards. The time we visited Coonoor was peak season and as expected all the hotels were booked up to the brim. we were struggling to find a decent place for covering our heads with no luck whatsoever. Hotel Vivek was kind enough to arrange an extra room for the first day but made no promises for the following days as they were overly booked. We were thankful as at least one day would give us time to check for other available places. We kept on checking every small, possible place to stay in Coonoor but in vain. The following day, when I went to vacate our room the hotel staff informed me that they are able to extend our stay as one of the bookings was a no show. I know, you would be thinking what is the big deal? Like I mentioned above, Coonoor was filled with tourists and the staff could have easily given the room to anyone else for a higher price but they showed their service is keeping the room for us. The best part? they did not charge a rupee extra on their usual prices where as I was ready to pay double the amount just to cover our heads!!!! Hotel Vivek, seriously believes in customer service and stand up to their values and I highly recommend them. Place is serene on the side of a hill and the view are astonishing.

Pros: Decent pricing Value to customer Service Parking In house restaurants Good helpful staff with adequate local knowledge Security Astounding views from the Hotel Location

Cons: Though room were neat, Bathrooms could have been maintained better Hot water only at fixed times and since it is a hill station, can be a little...
