"I recently dined at the famous Ramachandran after frequently ordering from them, hoping that an in-person experience would match the quality of their food. While the food was indeed excellent, the hygiene standards fell far short of expectations.
Firstly, I found a small hair in the kerela parotta we ordered, which was off-putting. Secondly when we requested tissue paper, the server handed us tissues from the wash basin area rather than providing fresh ones, which didn’t feel sanitary at all.
I tried to address these issues with the manager, but he walked away from the counter when he saw us and he knew we would talk about all the issues, which felt dismissive and unprofessional. Given the restaurant's reputation, I expected much better standards of hygiene and customer service.
Overall, while the food remains great, the hygiene and management approach need serious improvement. I hope the team takes this feedback to enhance the dining experience for...
Read moreOn my visit to Coonoor, I decided to try this restaurant after it popped up in my search and had good reviews. It turned out to be a satisfying experience overall.
The meal began with a complimentary soup that was absolutely top-notch—it was so good I found myself wanting more! For the main course, I went for the Wellington Special Parotta, one of their local specialties, along with Chicken 65. The parotta itself was just okay, but the gravy served alongside it was delicious and made up for it. The Chicken 65, on the other hand, was the highlight—juicy, tender, and packed with a unique and flavorful twist.
The only drawback was the parking situation. Located on a busy street in Coonoor, it doesn’t have dedicated parking, but there are plenty of pay-and-park options nearby, so it wasn’t a major issue.
Overall, it’s a great spot to explore some local delicacies with good flavors and decent service. Worth a visit if you’re...

On my recent trip to Coonoor, I visited Hotel Ramchandra, and honestly, it’s one of the best food spots I’ve ever been to. The food quality was top-notch, and for the taste they serve, it’s easily one of the most budget-friendly restaurants in Coonoor.
If I had stayed an extra day in Ooty, I would’ve happily traveled back to Coonoor just to eat here again — that’s how good it was. The Chicken Biryani and Korma were outstanding, and the Fried Rice was also flavorful and satisfying.
There’s ample parking space, which makes it convenient, though be prepared for a slightly longer serving time since the place is always busy (a good sign that locals and tourists love it!). The restaurant also maintains cleanliness and hygiene, which is a big plus.
Tip: Don’t miss the Chicken Biryani & Korma — worth the hype! Go a bit early to avoid peak-time waiting.
