OYO Banu Residency — Hotel in Tamil Nadu

It's an okayish hotel. I booked this hotel through OYO to attend my friend marriage in Vellore. I started at 2PM in Erode and drove my car to reach the hotel in the night 9 PM. Although their check-in time is 11 AM, I already called and informed them about my late arrival.

The marriage was next day early morning 5:30 AM. So I have time only to take rest and get up early morning to leave the hotel.

Once I checked in, i found that the there is no hot water in bath room taps. I somehow managed with cold water that night and slept.

To my bad, the hotel was only equipped with Centralized Solar Water heater and no dedicated water heater for each room.

It's mid of December and climate was chill. Hotel caretaker said, water heater won't work at early morning hours.

Next day morning, i woke up st 4:00 AM and called Hotel caretaker about hot water. He asked me to wait for sometime and brought bucket full of water in 15 min. And the day started for me with a bucket full of hot water.

In a nutshell, many hotels are cutting individual water heaters and moving to Solar water heaters as a cost cutting measure.

But it really affecting the visitors who's expecting such facilities.

i am a frequent traveler and this is the worst hotel that i have stayed in so far. i went there after reading the reviews even when they were negative reviews because the management replied to the reviews. so, i thought that they have made a few changes. but, dont believe these replies. the first room i stayed in was given to me on purpose with a non-functioning AC so that they can reduce the electric charges. we had to ask for another room at 1pm, and even that room was like this. the blankets were used and i found hair and other stuff on it. there was only one towel and a single soap for two people. the property is not at all hygienic and the staff is extremely rude. moreover, it is an over-charged property. this is not a residency but like a very basic lodge. my suggestion to all out there to to not use this...

Situated at A very prime location 100 meters to Main road. Big amman temple and New bus stand are the landmarks. Owner is very kind and provided us early check-in without any extra payment. One manager namely ramu is also too good. He helped us in Routes and price for around the town. Room service available only for drinking water. No room boy available to bring tea, coffe, snacks, brush, paste, etc., You need to go on your own. They say, Lift doesn't work due to some technical problem and it is TRUE. Housekeeping is good and our room is maintained well and kept clean all the time. TV works fine with a satellite setup box. A very good hotel who comes with budget and a bit compromise mindset. Our only problem was to climb 3 floors all the time. Rest all is okay...
