My recent stay at Ananda Kashi has been far from satisfactory. Despite our booking made well in advance and with high expectations for a pleasant stay, the experience has been disheartening.
Upon entering the allotted room, which was delayed by almost half an hour, we were met with conditions that were beyond imagination for a 3-star hotel. The washroom was in an unacceptable state, with a half-filled bucket of water, dirty shoe prints on the floor, poop stains on the pot, and an unbearable stench akin to a sewer. The room's floor was wet, covered in shoe prints, handed over hastily after the previous guest vacated.
Furthermore, the single set of worn out and used slippers provided was insufficient, and upon requesting an additional pair, we were informed that none were available. The sharp edges of the bed and table were hazardous and posed a risk of injury.
In addition, the toilet seat was inadequately sized, causing water to splash onto the floor with each flush. The lack of attention to these basic amenities and the overall condition of the room is not in line with the standards expected from a reputable establishment.
Moreover, the staff's professionalism and attire were disappointing. The receptionist lacked a proper dress code, and the absence of a systematic approach to service was evident as waiterstaff were sent randomly. The constant ringing of the bell by a waitress, despite my request to stop due to attending to my 4-month-old baby, showed a lack of consideration and professionalism.
Additionally, I would like to highlight the presence of big mosquitoes and ants in my room, which significantly spoiled the comfort of our stay. Despite the hotel's policy against smoking, we saw cigarette remains in the room's outer passage upon check-in.Moreover, the unclean state of the dustbin further contributed to the overall lack of hygiene.
This experience leads me to question the motives behind establishing such a facility, as it appears to be more of a financial venture than a genuine commitment to providing a satisfactory hospitality experience.

If you can take a walk for Kaal bhairav and Kashi then location is fine. But if you want to book cabs here you are going face many challenges due to overcrowded place. No cab driver willing to come here. unless you are coming by your car or using local rickshaw (which higher than uber/ola prices).
Food:- Third class food , no hygenie , using stale food . Plus they charge you for food everytime unless you call to reception to make a single bill for all food and services. Saras Food staff is so rude and impatient they did not let you eat in peace, came to you in every 10 mins are you done?, are you done?. And that too when this restaurant is empty no one is there. Now I understand why no one was there. Avoid this restaurant at any cost , go outside there are much tastier and best food available in Varanasi.
Service:- Again service is pathetic, we are carrying 5 bags and their staff do help us in lugguage carrying, everytme we call to reception they take forever to come, eveytime whatever you want to do you have to do by yourself , this is not hotel it is one like dharmshala where no staff is there to help you. Provided us smelly rooms, door for one room was defected only locked by key. They don't have master key in case you left the key inside the door.
Honest review:- I booked this hotel by reading reviews and seems nothing was like that. I think these reviews are fake and created by owner with the help of people by paying them to write. I would suggest go for another hotels in market area or some branded chains. Paying this amount can land you a very decent hotel in Varanasi. It is not worth it. Please see other options. Read moreI will never recommend this hotel to anyone as I had the bad experience of staying with them. I booked 6 rooms, 3 for 14th and 3 for 16th. All 3 rooms were utilised as all guests could make it to the location. On 16th, request was made to them to cancel 1 room out of these to which they refused that last minute cancellations are not allowed.
We reached at the property at 11.30 pm and they told us to wait till morning for the refund and hence we didn't take the extra room which we requested a cancellation. At the time of leaving the hotel, they simply denied the refund and used that third room for their own good.
After taking full payment in advance, they make fool of the customers. After talking to them at length, they asked us for the medical documents as our 6th room was not utilised due to medical reasons of family members who are 85+ years of age. We gave them medical proofs and copy of flight cancellation too. They took bank details from us and promised for a refund in 1-2 days. It's been 6 days now and the refund has been denied to us even after giving genuine proofs.
They wasted time there and it's been days we are calling them, every time they asked for time and now finally have refused the refund.
We multiple times requested them to connect us to their higher officials but they didn't. Everytime their heads denied meeting as they had no intent to pay since the beginning. They shouldn't have atleast given fake promises and ask for documents to just show that they are working on this.
After receiving medical proofs too, they didn't consider hospitalisation as the medical emergency. We really do not know what else could be the medical issue.
Never ever ask for any help at this place as they will never meet your expectations. They are into money making only and have nothing to do with the sentiments...
