AVOID THIS PLACE! We got ROBBED in this place. They went to our room when we were away and took our saved money that were really well hidden. They promised us to see the footage from camera - they said "no problem - we show you all the footage in 10 minutes". Yeah - we waited all night long and in the morning it was still not ready!!!! That day we had flight to Kolkata so we could not do more. We called also with the owner - he was at the wedding and "did not have time" to solve this. Now he does not communicate with us. So he is a liar and scammer. The rooms are in bad condition, with MOLD !!!! on the walls, no window as promised. You can hear people talking all night and you do not have a good sleep here - also at night somebody was loudly banging on the door and screaming and it was really unpleasant. In the morning again the talking people will disturb you. They offer also breakfast - they will serve you omelet from one egg, some toast bread (that was not toasted) and piece of chemical jam - very tasty I must say. :) You are FORBIDDEN to eat outside your small wet moldy room. The next day we got even smaller portion of food. 🙈 On the third day I skipped my breakfast as it was not tasty... Also they asked 100 hundred of rupees for water that they did not say it was not in price. I am in India for one month and half but everywhere we got one bottel of water per day. Also probably the owner is not very good with mathematics - 3x30...
Read moreA traditional haveli converted into hotel, this place definitely exudes the old world charm and a site to be visited to feel the vibes of a residence of one of the noble families of old Varanasi. Deeply nested within the network of lanes, the location of the hotel gives one the chance to explore the historical maze of narrow lanes of Varanasi, though it is not at all difficult to navigate and is reachable by auto rickshaw. The Pandey Ghat by the banks of the holy Ganges River is also neraby to the hotel. In spite of maintaining traditional decor, the hotel also offers modern amenities like air conditioner, geysar, etc. Service is very good and breakfast was complimentary. There is no in house restaurant though, but a lot of eateries are located nearby. They reportedly have two other units but the Narayana Haveli is highly recommended for those travellers who are in search of history and...
