Peerless Hotel Durgapur — Hotel in West Bengal

What is good: 1-Nice location, the city center. 2-There are good restaurants, general stores, roadside food stalls and a wine shop and the attraction of this location the Junction Mall are near this hotel. 3-The restaurant is good where one can taste North Indian, South Indian, Bengali and Chinese food.They have decent and spacious rooms. 4-Option of fruits, eggs, bakery products, north North Indian as well as South Indian foods in the breakfast. What is not good: The service, which needs to be improved a lot. We have two days meeting here. I requested for a twin bed room while check-in process.They sent me to check three different floors for a room. When I selected the room, only a towel and a bottle of hand wash and an electric cattle with tea material was there available as the amenities.But the cattle was not cleaned well. I have to request for other amenities.They did not served the meeting team as requested by the team.The staff demonstrated even worst example of service on the second day of the meeting, they denied to serve the packaged drinking water saying that the bill has been raised for the payment. We were not expecting such service, as this property is the oldest and well known property...

Located in very close proximity to the City centre and about 20 minutes drive from Durgapur railway station, this is one of the best hotels in the place. What is the most appreciated fact is that the hotel believes and has implemented GREEN AND ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY PRACTICES. For instance, water is provided not in the usual plastic bottles but in glass bottles. The rooms have been converted to non-smoking rooms and a penalty of thousands are charged for violation. The rooms are spacious with most modern amenities and facilities. The restaurant provides a-la-carte menu and buffet. The buffet spreads are lavish and huge. The food is of superior taste and good quality. Of course there is a scope for improvement with regards to the promptness in the services of the staff but else everything is just a great experience. Good location, nice ambience friendly staff but poor management. I didn't expect this kind of service .

Visited on the 19th June with my family. I wanted to order one cocktail for me and one mocktail for my daughter. From 10 pm I tried to call room service but no one picked up. After complaining about this to reception , the receptionist assured me that someone from room service would get back to me . I kept calling but no one called back. @10:55 finally someone picked up the call & told me that the bar is closed now.

Next morning during b/f on duty restaurant manager or supervisor asked me about my stay . When I told him about this very simply he replied it happened because of a full house & sudden rush. Is this a justified answer?

About food - food is good. I liked the b/f buffet & lunch buffet
