We stayed in De Braga Hotel by Artotel on Oct 17-18, 2020. We were a group of an extended family (with 2 children & a baby), booked 5 rooms.
Pros: Thumbs up for Miss Eka (FO/Reservation). She has succeeded in fulfilling our requests regarding our rooms. All 5 rooms were on the same floor. The baby slept very well & didn't disturb other guests (đ). My family (2 parents & 2 children) did get the connecting rooms. We are really, really satisfied with the room assignments. Thank you very much, Miss Eka đ Excellent service, especially regarding the check in. Again, by Miss Eka đđź We (traveling from Jakarta) arrived at the Hotel at 11 am. Off course, the rooms were not ready so we dropped our luggages and proceed to lunch. At 2.15 pm Miss Eka called my mobile saying that our rooms were ready (which I highly appreciated!). The location is very city-centric & strategic to most tourist attractions. Great value for money. I liked (almost) everything about the room. The size was OK (not big but not too small either). The bed was PERFECT with 4 pillows, very comfortable for my backpain. I personally prefer no carpet, I can clearly see the floor was clean. I really loved the open "wardrobe", we could vigilantly check our things before departing (minimalized leaving behind our things). Plus, there was a big space to store our shoes.
Cons: When my children & I went to the pool (on Saturday around 4 pm), the area was dirty and there were no staffs around. We found some cigarette butts & leftover food đ¤Śđťââď¸ I know it was done by some irresponsible guests, but that's why there should be a staff watching the area (to warn the naughty guests). Breakfast time was a disappointment. I didn't mind about the long queue and I understood the staffs were doing their best. I even didn't mind about the average menu. However, for me the biggest flaw is: the food didn't match with the menu displayed on the TV screen. The staff said that it was yesterday's menu. So why did they even bother to turn on the TV that was displaying the wrong menu? đ¤Śđťââď¸ The dining chairs in the restaurant were heavy. It was a bit difficult for us to move them for standing & sitting on. The shower head in room 8002 looked like it was going to fall off, and the pipe leaked. The faucet in room 8003 was wiggly. The electrical socket for the coffee maker/water heater (also in room 8002) didn't work. The water heater (for drinking) was a high-end Nescafe coffee maker. But no coffee, only tea đ¤ And I think the Hotel should make an instruction manual on how to operate it, for not everybody is familiar with this kind of appliance (including me). The Hotel was managed by Artotel, but it's interior looked like just a regular hotel. I think they should display much more art works so guests can do a selfie or take photos.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay & would definitely recommend it for travelers who are looking for a hotel in the heart of Bandung. For families, the connecting rooms are highly...
Read moreDe Braga is a good hotel. Will I come back again? Maybe. But here are some of my pros and cons about this hotel. And with some thoughts I give it 4 stars review. Hopefully the management will take it into consideration.
Pros: -Big bed. Seriously, I booked studio 25 king room and I was surprised to see the size of the bed. Itâs almost as big as a super king size bed. -Comfortable mattress with soft pillows. I prefer my bed like this and I love it, but I know it wonât be the same for some. -Strong water pressure in the bathroom and great water heater. Decent size of room; not too small and not too big. -Strategically located. Itâs right in the heart of Braga. -Breakfast actually taste good. but due to covid situation, you canât take your own food and the workers gives so little portion.
Cons: -Not really soundproof. You can hear when people are walking or moving chairs in the room above and beside you. -The towels have seen better days. But really.. it might sounds like nothing, but considering this hotel as 4 stars hotel, these towels shouldâve been discharged from a while ago and change it with newer ones. -Phonecalls from lobby and restaurants. I understand theyâre trying to offer you promos and stuff, but it can be pretty annoying when youâre trying to get some rest. -Small parking spaces/lots. If you come later you probably wonât get parking space...
Read moreDespite staying for one night only, our visit was amazing. Staffs were friendly and helpful, and checking in was an ease. Things we requested were all checked from the list: room on high-floor, non-smoking room, and early check-in and late check-out.
The hotel itself is located in the heart of the town. The historical Braga street is within a walking distance and Alun-Alun Bandung is just a 10-minute walk from the premises. We were lucky because Light Festival were held on the night we stayed. From our room, we could watch the festival without having to be among the crowds.
de Braga by ARTOTEL is a new hotel in the town, meaning that things are still new and fresh. It was built on a site previously occupied by Sarinah, but the façade of Sarinah itself is still preserved. We had our room on the 9th floor, with big windows overlooking Asia Afrika street. Our room was quite spacious. The interior was a perfect combination of modern contemporary style and rustic industrial with a hint of the elegance of art-deco. Murals on the wall created such a youthful touch to the room and made a great photo background. Our bed was big and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and well-lit, equipped with marble sink, hair dryer,...
