This place is okay i guess, there's plus and minus, let me break it down The plus: Location, it is in the city center, surrounded by restaurant, cafe, and bars you will not missed the night life here. Great complimentary Breakfast, with lots of foods selection, i specially like the pasta Good service on meeting package, the staffs respond is timely. Good sleep quality, room sound isolation good, comfortable mattress, and cool Air con
The minus: Bathroom shower have no door, very prone to splash and wet area around bathroom Only 1 Trashcan per room, in the toilet. Parking very limited and seems like not complimentary.
My only complaint is the parking, we come here for meeting (meeting package) so we book few rooms, but we did not get any parking, the securities offered us 50k for VIP parking and 20k for vallet service, which seems very under the table because we did not get any receipt and directly paid to the security personnel. The VIP spot was just regular parking space near the lobby gates by red cone, not some dedicated place with sign. The vallet spot is regular spot in basement, there are almost no place for your regular parking spot. This is very different experience, in other hotel when the parking space full, the security / vallet usually do this automatically without the need to specify payment, and we usually still gave the tips, but not on mercure hotel city center, my wonderful experience marred by this very experience.
I dont know if this vip and vallet practice is known by management, but this really gave me bad impression, if this is really official service then the hotel should print official receipt and make dedicated vip parking and vallet area, so that customer doesnt feel cheated by the staffs. If really the hotel doesnt have enough room for regular parking, you should give sign that parking is not complimentary and only accepting vallet parking, because when we arrange our meeting here we assume that most of our meeting guest will come using their private vehicle and truthfully that day we got multiple complaints by our meeting guests about this issue.
Tldr; Good hotel, bad parking service Protip: dont bring vehicle...
Read moreWe stayed for two nights and booked a Classic room. The check-in process was simple and quick, and the receptionists were so friendly. They assigned us a room on the 9th level. Interior-wise, the room reflected a chic combination of Mid-century modern and Art Deco, with a little Steampunk-ish touch (the wall lamp above the desk looks like a series of monocles for us). The bed was pretty comfortable and big enough for two person. Initially, we doubted the comfort of the chair but turned out, it was so comfortable. The bathroom was rather small and adjusting the right temperature was kind of difficult as turning the tap slightly too much would result in the water being either too cold or too hot. The closet needed improvement as the doors couldn't be closed properly. However, the overall room condition was great, especially with a nice city view.
The breakfast was okay. The menu varied, but not that greatly. The property had a designated smoking area--a spacious balcony--in the restaurant. The restaurant itself was quite spacious and stylish. However, our favourite part of the stay was the pool. The infinity pool overlooked the city, which was great. The water wasn't heated and the whirlpool didn't work (this was kind of disappointing) but the view really amused us, especially when swimming in the afternoon. Next to the pool was a gym. The gym was pretty small, with a limited number of equipments but had the same city view which made exercising more interesting.
Location-wise, the property allows us to access the city centre easily. There are a number of restaurants, cafes, and convenience stores nearby the premises. The only thing we hated was the parking lot. The number of parking spaces available for a hotel with 170 rooms was too limited, and we almost didn't have a space to park our car. However, the overall staying experience was pleasant. Staff members were also helpful, friendly, and courteous. We'd love to stay again at Mercure Bandung...
Read moreThe design are good, but the facilities not satisfy, the worst is parking area they have only one lane for in and out at basement, at first we take a parallel parking, so the staff can order my car as the basement needs and we saw that they close up the car each other until no space between, so its quite disturbing, so you better vallet your car at basement, the staff will help you find a parking area when available. my bad luck, there was a big company group staying at hotel, and we queue up for lift so long, i habe to wait about 40min from lobby to reach 6th floor, they only have 2 guest lift, and there is ONLY 1 LIFT can reach the basement, i can't imagine if there is a wedding, full booked room, and full meeting group, it will be crowded lift and lobby. breakfast service was good, they help us find a table, and bring us drink, you can find Indomie at breakfast, but too much staples for me, 3 type of rice, instant noodle, rice vermicelli, rice porridge, bread, pastry, noodle soup, but there is only 1 type of meat (chicken gulai), the staff always greeting skyview bar and pool are small for this hotel scale,
For the room, the design are great, so many amazing detail, modern, colourfull, minimalist, calm lighting, poor wardrobe door poor toilet door, semi privacy poor floor drain, no floor leveling for shower area and wastafel area, so all floor getting wet when i take shower, they have 3 channel fox movies for tv, with HD quality no make up mirror, there is a one big mirror 1m x 2,4m in the room, far from chair, table and electricity plug, so i have to reorder the furniture for make up, no sleep lamp, and minimum lighting setting, all have to black out lighting for sleeping, there is one big lamp in front of big mirror that can't turn off without black out all the lamp. poor sound proof for an equal type of hotel poor towel, bad iron...
