Grand Serela Setiabudhi — Hotel in Bandung City

I was staying here twice in 2011 and it was a very nice hotel, probably because its quite brand new hotel at the time. Restaurant has a nice view with semi outdoor concept.

My last stay here on March 2017 was not really impressed me. Now the hotel looks gloomy, and the furniture need some repair and refreshment. Some lights in my room was not working, and the colour of the lamp they use make the room looks even older. Worst of all, the mirror in my room was full of stain but they did not replace it. Its actually not that old hotel with a very old fashioned furniture, but it can really use some refreshment. Good side, room is quite spacious, bed still feels good and firm and room was clean.

I think they should change the carpet in the room, not that bad actually but if you leave the room for quite some time, it feels a little bit moist when you enter the room, and it gives you a little bit funny smell of old carpet. Fortunately the appearance of the carpet is still good but I think wooden floor will give better impression.

Fortunately the air con works very well. I hate it when staying in hotel and the air con is not cooling the room properly.

Buffet breakfast, one thing that I really love when staying in a hotel. It is a 4-star hotel if I'm not wrong, but what I can say is there is quite a lot of other 4-star hotel has better breakfast buffet than this hotel (in term of vatiety and taste) but yes it's still better than a 3-star hotel. Actually I think most of Kagum Hotel has similar variety and taste for their breakfast (I've stayed in Banana Inn and Serela Cihampelas also at different time). Can use some improvement in the taste though.

Anyway, I know the competition in hotel bussiness is very tight now and considering the price they offer, actually I couldn't complaining a lot. I know some 4-star hotels offering room at much higher price than this hotel (could be twice higher or even more).

Good side also, hotel's located in a quite road so you don't hear a lot of noise from passing car or motorcycle. If you want to go out for eat, need a little bit of walk to reach restaurants and cafe. Not that far, but not that close either.

So if you don't really mind with some minor and medium downside of this hotel, and price come first into your consideration, you can choose this hotel. Overall I would like to give 7 out of 10 points for this hotel.

Still I hope they fix the light in my room so all can work properly, but I was just too lazy to report this as I was only stay here for 2...

first of all, the staff gave us a wrong information about the room we went round for about 15-20 minute. We booked 2 rooms at the hotel and one of the rooms didn't have the electricity so we must wait for more then 30 minutes in a black out room without ac. After that they gave us a new room with a new problem, the water won't run and it tooks about another 30-45 minutes for us to wait for the technician to fix it(and still no hot water for that night). They gave us a compliment with a free buffet of cold food and they didn't refill or atleast reheat the food. Do you think the problem has solved? no the bedside lamp has a short circuit and do a little pop of explotion and guess what it's the second black out room we have experience in 2 hours. We do call the receptionist and he told us to wait but the technician didn't come for more than 1 hours so we call again and the receptionist told us to move the room. It was already midnight and i have a pretty long trip so I'm pretty tired and didn't want to do another room move. After the technician fix the black out room turns out that the charging port won't work and we must call again the receptionist and wait for about 1 hours and still the technician won't come and the receptionist told us to move room (again). I'm run out of patience and i said i didn't want to because it's already in the middle of the night and we have a pretty long trip and a couple of problems so please just check the room first before gave us a room move option. In the next morning we had a breakfast at 8am and the food already cold yea 8am in the morning and the foods are cold just like the night before (idk when they cook it). After the wOnDeRfuL breakfast we did a little explore to see the facilities. the swimming pool was dirty in the night we arrive and still dirty in the next morning despite that we've told the staff to clean it. The gym facilities are pathetic, almost all of the machine are broken and we can't barely use it. The sauna and spa facilities? they closed it and smells like a humid and musty room. so we come back to our rooms and decided to sleep for the rest of the day. Overall if i can give half stars, i'll give this hotel 0 star...

I stayed for 2 nights for business trip and bring my whole family for leisure, and it turns out this hotel was a nightmare.. The management didnt have a clue about what hospitality all about, I book not the cheapest, but the deluxe, still the service quality is bottom-low.. I am quite tolerable about the hotel infrastructure quality, some crack and some dent here and there, that was fine for me.. but when it comes to service, imagine this, my family leave the hotel at 10am for some holiday trip before I got my meetings at 3pm, we put a mark "please make up room" but when we arrive at the hotel at 2.30pm, the hotel didnt make up the room, they leave our room dirty.. I made an official & hard complaint to the front desk and Im asking the General Managar or Manager on Duty to meet us, because our trip to Bandung is ruined, my mood for my meetings is out of place, my wife and my kids dissapointed with the service.. and there are NO VISIT from the General Manager or manager on duty to handle this complaint, the GM is not present in the hotel and even the Manager on Duty, when my wife asked the housekeeping where is the management to handle this poor service, the housekeeping said "so what do you want?"

This is the very deep-bottom-low service quality of a hotel, Im a hospitality profesional myself and this is not tolerable.

Dont make this hotel as an option if you want to go to Bandung,...
