RedDoorz Plus near Riau Street — Hotel in Bandung City

I was going to meet up with a few friends of mine on the weekend morning but going to Bandung from Tangerang during a weekend you don't even know the chances, so I decided to start my journey at 9 pm and to my surprise we got to Bandung by a quarter to 12 so choosing a nice hotel for just a few hours is a waste of money (cause money doesn't grow on trees you know) and besides we have already booked another hotel to stay together. ||As I was searching for cheap hotel on one of the hotel search engines, I stumbled upon Sabang Hotel and read the review and it was perfect! it matched my whole criteria for a transit. It was cheap, and clean. so why not? I called and the guy said I could check in over 12 am so it's all good. ||When I got there, here is the summary,||Location: to my surprise, it was located near a home town? next to people houses but whatever it doesn't really bother much. and it was close by a few places in city.||Parking: such a small parking space. but I managed to still have a parking spot that day.||Lobby: it gave me chills! it was mostly wood and there were like huge puppets and other relics. and it was a small lobby, the front desk was also small and he was by himself that night. it gave me this sense of old building.||the front desk lead us to our room and during the way to our room, i noticed the building was built long ago, so many stairs and turns and small and you get the point right?||Room: well imagine an old building, the room got that sense too. the curtains, the windows, the bedding, the chairs and tables in room, but again who cares I was just staying for a night sleep. the bathroom was huge and it has hot water, the room has ac and cable tv. ||it was like a kos-kosan also.||for hotels like this I only expect cleanliness and great attitude from the staff and this hotel got it!||Check in and out process was also efficient and the staff is kind, when I checked out in the morning like at 8, it was still the same guy from last night. ||I would definitely come back again for a transit!||oh and the fooood price is pretty cheap for a hotel! (don't raise the price please,it is such a great price for a budget...

This is a creepy hotel with some of the most depressing rooms I've stayed in.

The bathroom smells pretty bad, depending on the room you end up with. One that I stayed smelled worse than a toilet at the bus terminal. There's just a single light bulb in the middle of the (very low) ceiling with no covering, making it quite dark and headache inducing.

There's no real window. Low quality mattress and bedding. The shower goes from lukewarm to boiling hot, not in between.

Perhaps the worst part is the other people who stay in the hotel, which seem to be mostly village people. You will hear their kids screaming and running around, even playing ball and knocking over trash cans. You'll hear it all clearly due to the poor sound isolation. Even the adults can't behave well. There were two guys playing chess for hours every day, one of them screaming like a goat after each move and yelling "gilaaaa euuy!"

The hotel seems to post fake reviews for itself on the official reddoorz website. I communicated this with Reddoorz customer service and they were nice enough to unnecessarily relay it to the hotel manager, making for a pretty awkward check out experience. Later, it turns out that not only does Reddoorz do nothing about fake reviews, they support the hotel in doing this. Also, Reddoorz will not allow you to post a one star review through their review system.
