Pondok Ayu — Hotel in Denpasar Selatan

Right from our exit at the Airport terminal we were greeted with in infectious welcoming smile from our host Gede, who was waiting to drive us to Pondok Ayu pointing out many places of interest along the way. On arrival the staff were all waiting to cater to our every need and this service continued for our entire stay. The pool and extremely well maintained gardens were immaculate with the only thing out of place being the frangiapanni flowers that littered the lawn. Our room was well stocked with icy cold bintang and soft drinks. After we had settled in and had a swim and a drink in our lush surroundings we ventured down to the beach again driven by Gede as part of our inclusions in the accomodation. I cant speak highly enough of how well we were looked after by the staff as nothing was too much trouble and the Bali coffee and fully cooked breakfast every morning with freshly prepared fruit was magnificent. Although the property is a 10 to 15 minute walk from the beach it is in a very peaceful area there were plenty of local warung style restaurants and a convenience store only a stones throw away. The Cavern Bar or beatles bar as its known is less than a 2 minute walk away also . Food is available also at Pondok Ayu and the friendly staff were happy to knock up a snack for my son in between meals. The Girls both had a very enjoyable luxury massage during our stay which they both said was amazing. I joined my mother at this B&B 3 days into her 10 day stay. There are only 5 rooms and most of the time the place was full. We were in an upstairs room which catches more of the breeze.The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and well thought out (although for easier access it could be improved with a shower rather than a bath with overhead shower).||The staff were wonderful.||Breakfast was the same every day.. fruit juice, choice of eggs any style or pancake, toast, tea/coffee and fruit. All very nice. We opted to eat on our balcony but they have a large round table where you can sit with fellow guests. This is also where you can have lunch or dinner. The nearest options for eating out are on the other side of the bypass.||There was free transport to anywhere in Sanur and pick up if you gave them a time. There is only one car available during the day but 2 in the evening. On about 4 occasions we had to get a taxi as no car was available. The taxi charges for this were more than we could negotiate for the return trip or with Blue Bird metered taxis.||The place is about 700m from the bypass (4 lanes) and about the same again to the beach and beachwalk.||If we go back to Bali we would look at staying here again.||Thanks for a...

Nous avons séjourné 3 nuits a Pondok Ayu. Il s'agit d'une petite structure (4 chambres et 1 suite donnant sur une même piscine de taille modeste) tenue par Barbara et Steve, un couple d'Australiens extrêmement gentils, dans un quartier calme de Sanur mais ne donnant pas sur la plage. Pour s'y rendre, vous pouvez prendre un shuttle mais celui-ci peut ne pas être disponible dans la journée ou marcher 15 minutes (attention il faut avoir un peu de pratique en la matière pour éviter les motos et voitures car en tant que piétons, vous n'avez jamais la priorité) - sinon vous pouvez prendre un taxi. L’atmosphère est familiale, même si nous avons compris que le couple était présent de manière ponctuelle tout au long de l’année. L'anglais est la langue d'usage.Wifi gratuit a l’extérieur. Le transfert aéroport est assure de manière gratuite (environ 30 minutes).||||Notre chambre était confortable, calme, grande, bien équipée. Nous avons découvert a la fin du séjour que les bouteilles d'eau y étaient offertes. Le petit déjeuner se prend autour d'une table commune ou vous pouvez demander a le prendre dans un restaurant - Benno's restaurant - situe sur la plage tenu aussi par le couple. En lui-meme, le petit dejeuner est complet mais manque un peu de variété. Nous avons regrette que le jus d'orange ne soit pas préparé par l’hôtel avec des oranges pressées. L'accueil au restaurant aurait pu être un peu plus chaleureux.||Pour le paiement des nuitées, il est possible de payer en euros, usd ou devise locale avec un taux de change de référence pris par l’hôtel aux conditions de marche - soit sans frais ou commissions, ce qui est très appréciable.||||Globalement, nous avons été satisfaits de notre séjour - avec un bon rapport qualité prix - même si nous aurions aime plus d’intimité et de tranquilite pour profiter de la piscine alors que l'ambiance était très familiale. ||||Enfin, nous avons été un peu déçus par la plage de Sanur, meme si la promenade en bord de mer est agréable a faire. Elle ne justifie pas forcement a elle seule 3 nuits sur place alors qu'il y a tant de choses a découvrir a Bali. Nous avons préféré Ubud pour faire les excursions, qui est plus centrale.
