The Salili is a very wonderful place. I stayed there during my longer trip to Indonesia, first with four friends, later as a couple and finally alone for work. It was great the entire time. The Salili is my absolute recommendation for an overnight stay on Gili Air. Location The resort is right on the beach on the northern, quieter shore of Gili Air. Two bungalows have direct ocean views, the others look out over a well-manicured, beautiful garden. The beach is only a few steps away. There are enough sunbeds and also a few tables. There is a pool in the complex. The water is cleaned regularly and I jumped in once every day. The neighboring facilities have a restaurant area right by the sea. I visited these frequently. For me, the location on Gili Air is the perfect mix: a quiet resort with an almost private stretch of beach. Varied restaurants and other activities are a few minutes walk or bike ride away. Rooms The standard bungalows are nice, not brand new, but well maintained. The mattresses are comfortable, the air conditioning works and there is a small refrigerator. There is a mosquito net. However, there were very few mosquitoes.Daily room cleaning is available if the key is left at the front desk. The bathroom is (as mostly on the Gilis) an outdoor bathroom. The perimeter walls are high. This helps to prevent bugs. If there is anything to complain about: the light is a bit dark. Internet via Wifi is available and very good in the standard bungalows. In the better double rooms a connection is hardly possible. Staff The staff is available to answer questions and help if something is needed and give tips. However, they also just let guests relax in peace. I found this very pleasant. Everyone is young, easy going and quite friendly. If you want, they run great snorkeling excursions. For my crossing from Gili Air to Padang Bai, I was able to buy a cheap speedboat ticket at the accommodation. And the arranged boat actually left on time (a rarity on the Gilis). Water is refilled on request in brought bottles free of charge. Cleaning Cleaning of clothes is fast and cheap. Work As mentioned above, I was at Salili first for vacation and then for almost two weeks for work. I was able to use tables in the breakfast area. Concentrated work with a dream view was also possible on the beach, as well as on my own terrace or in my room (I was provided with an additional table). I can highly recommend the place to work. Arrival A horse-drawn carriage can be taken from the port. I do not like the cruelty to animals. Therefore, I rented a bike directly at the port. The ride across the island from the port to Salili takes 10 minutes. I recommend renting a bike for the entire stay. On foot, the walk from the port to Salili takes about 20 minutes - a bit long with luggage. Breakfast The only point that was not perfect. The choice between egg dishes or pancakes was a bit boring. The pancakes were often very thick and greasy. The fruit plate at breakfast was delicious. The coffee was unfortunately not good. It is possible to book the stay without breakfast, that is my recommendation. But maybe the breakfast...

We stayed 6 nights in one of their suites (originally booked 4 & extended as we were having such a good time) - suites are set in a lush tropical garden facing the pool. Never actually used the pool as Salili is right on the beach, they have pagodas & sunbeds on the shore you can chill on.
Staff is friendly & super accommodating, they can help with everything from food recommendations, hiring snorkel gear & bicycles to booking tours & onwards travel.
Ac in the rooms works really well, beds are comfortable, mosquito net is thick & doesn’t sag, room has good storage space for clothes + a desk, kettle, fridge, free water & instant coffee refill - can’t ask for much more.
Outdoor indoor bathroom is lovely aesthetics wise but causes mosquito issues, this style of bathroom (& subsequent issue) is basically everywhere in Indonesia though so can’t fault them for it. We had a problem with our showers water pressure & they fixed it almost as soon as we mentioned it.
Close to a tonne of good restaurants & snorkelling areas (try zzz warung, sunnys warung & Gili bliss!) & def go swim with the turtles as big as me at Sandy beach 😁
10/10 recommend Salili if you’re looking for a tranquil stay in Gili air, thanks for a...
Read moreSalili Bungalow is located on the sunset coast of Gili Air. From their beach you can enjoy the sun setting with Bali's volcanos in the background.
The rooms are nice and functional with a well working a/c, a fridge and an outdoor bathroom. The facility is a lovely garden with a pool. I never actually used it because the beach and sea is just a few steps away.
You can easily snorkle from the beach on Gili Air. They rent equipment for snorkeling as well as bikes, in case you want to ride around the island. It's also possible to book snorkeling trips to Gili Meno and Gili T by boat through them.
The staff is young, friendly and helpful. You can get your clothes washed for a little fee and get your bottles refilled for free.
The breakfast is very...
