Waroeng Alam Damai — Restaurant in West Nusa Tenggara

When we came to the restaurant they took out order and delivered our beer. After that nothing happened. After 45 minutes I tried to get eye contact with the waiter but he kept avoiding me.

After 1+ hour I went to the kitchen asking if the food were coming soon. They told me it not coming soon. At that time they had a full restaurant and nobody was eating because no food came out from the kitchen - and no information at all.

If they know they have big problem in the kitchen they need to inform before someone orders. At least they could inform when they knew no food will come out from the kitchen within 1+ hour. They also could have asked if the guest would like to order more beverages after an hour waiting.

We stayed in Gili Air for 6 days, and found this wonderful place the last day. If only we had found it earlier...we would have come here every day! It was the highlight of our visit to the island. De's Curry is most probably the best we ate in our lives and the chicken in lalapang is so crispy and soft at the same time. Fresh sambal made right there in front of you, like all the rest of the food (with a very relaxed and informative cooking class that goes on if you are interested) was really yummy! They are also really nice people and I hope they will succed in making their dream come true, and although I don't usually write reviews, that is the reason I wrote this one. Like somebody said earlier in reviews- 5 stars ain't no joke, and when is the last time you saw a 5.0...

This was by far the best meal I had on Gili Air.

When we arrived, there was nobody else there aside from the 2 boys who quickly attended to us and took our order. From there they sprang into action and put together our delicious orders of chicken lalapan in what we perceived to be a very timely manner. They were apologising for taking so long, but honestly it didn't feel that long and it was so worth it.

The food is well presented, perfectly seasoned and plentiful.

We also had a visit from a very cute little kitty who just wanted to play and didn't beg for food.

These boys are doing a great job, and deserve all the support they can get. Make sure you pay them a visit when you go to Gili Air. It's far better than the mediocre tourist fare you'll find...
