An Exceptional Experience at El BomBon Café – Thanks to the Wonderful Ms. Febby
I recently had the absolute pleasure of visiting El BomBon Café at the luxurious Hotel Gran Meliá in Jakarta, and I must take a moment to sing the highest praises of one of the café’s brightest stars – Ms. Febby.
From the moment I stepped into El BomBon, I was greeted with a warm, genuine smile that instantly set the tone for an exceptional experience. Ms. Febby possesses a sweet and sincere demeanor that makes guests feel not only welcomed, but truly cared for. There’s an undeniable grace in the way she interacts with people – calm, courteous, and attentive in the most natural and heartfelt way. Her manner is gentle yet confident, and it’s clear she takes great pride in her work.
What stood out most about Ms. Febby is her impeccable politeness. In every interaction, she demonstrates the kind of professionalism and hospitality that goes above and beyond expectation. Whether she’s taking an order, offering recommendations, or simply checking in to make sure you’re comfortable, she does so with a soft-spoken kindness that is rare to find. Her communication is always clear, respectful, and filled with positivity – it’s as if every word she says is wrapped in warmth.
Now, onto what might just be her most magical skill – her matcha-making. Let me just say: Ms. Febby makes the BEST matcha I have ever had. And I say this as someone who has tasted matcha from countless cafés and specialty tea houses around the world. The moment I took the first sip, I was genuinely blown away. It was perfectly balanced – the matcha was rich and vibrant, with a velvety smoothness and a delicate bitterness that melted into subtle sweetness. The temperature was ideal, and the presentation itself was beautiful – a testament to the care and attention she puts into every cup. It was clear that this wasn’t just a drink; it was a handcrafted experience.
But it’s not just about the technical skill. What made that matcha even more special was knowing it had been made by someone who genuinely loves what they do. You can feel it in the way Ms. Febby works – every action is thoughtful and infused with intention. Watching her prepare drinks is like witnessing a quiet, graceful performance.
Beyond her excellent service and remarkable drink-making skills, Ms. Febby brings a light to the café that truly enhances the atmosphere. The environment at El BomBon is elegant yet relaxed, and much of that ambiance can be credited to her presence. She has the rare ability to anticipate a guest’s needs without being intrusive, to uplift a moment without overstepping. It’s a delicate balance – and she has mastered it.
During my visit, I also observed how well she interacted with other guests. Every person seemed to leave with a smile, often pausing to thank her or exchange kind words. There’s no doubt in my mind that she leaves a lasting impression on everyone she serves. She embodies the values of hospitality, grace, and excellence – values that reflect incredibly well on both El BomBon and the Hotel Gran Meliá as a whole.
In a city full of bustling cafés and countless hospitality workers, Ms. Febby stands out as a true gem. Her sweet demeanor, unshakable politeness, and unmatched matcha-making skills make her a priceless asset to the establishment. I hope her talent, warmth, and dedication are recognized and celebrated – because she truly deserves it.
To anyone visiting El BomBon Café: if you are lucky enough to be served by Ms. Febby, know that you are in the very best hands.
Thank you, Ms. Febby, for turning an ordinary café visit into an extraordinary memory. I look forward to returning soon – and I’ll absolutely be ordering...
Read moreStayed in the hotel for short staycation during Idul Fitri holiday. Location is right in the heart of business district, very good for staying on business purpose. Hotel building is a little bit old in my opinion, but very well maintain except for cracky escalator in the lobby, everything else is good and had refurbished to keep up to date. Check in & check out done very quick and without hassle, and they have quite a lot sofa bench for your family to sit while waiting the check in & check out process. It is a business hotel but still very good for a short family staycation during weekend or holiday season. Parking space is quite a lot in their 2 floors basement parking lot. I stayed in premium room, which os the fully refurbished room. I love the design of the bedroom and bathroom. Quite large and comfy bed, a long sofa bench in the window to sit and relax and also act as an extra bed when needed. nice view of working desk directly facing the window, although when you first time see the arrangement it might be a little bit awkward but also genius at the same time. I love the bathtub where you can watch the tv when soaking in the tub. everything is modern in design and they also has complete amenities such as sewing kit, in-room ironing equipment, shoeshine service, etc. Gran Melia has a small swimming pool in the ground floor. not so big but enough. they also have small pool for kids. it has several restaurant and lounge. I'm only visiting El Bombon cafe for a quick afternoon snack and Gran Via Cafe for breakfast. El Bombon serves pastries, bread, ice cream and some ala carte menu for quick lunch or dinner. price wise its very reasonable for a 5-star hotel. I think the price is similar with starbucks ... 50k IDR for a cup of coffee or premium tea in 5-stars hotel is very good isn't it. The pastry and bread is also very good both in term of price and taste. You can get the whole white bread for 18K IDR.. that is a real bargain in my opinion. Breakfast has a lot of variety from western, japanese, chinese, indian, indonesian and of course spanish cuisine, but in term of taste I think it could be better. Taste not bad but could be better. Special note here is the willingness and service from the staff (FO, security, restaurant staff etc) that very remarkable and beyond my expectation. Its a 5-stars service for me. Overall its a very good experience to stay here. Money well spent for a good experience and stay. keep up the...
Read moreThis hotel can easily be rated 4 or even 3, if one uses a fine tooth comb; however, the staff and their decisiveness to take a corrective action is what separates them from the rest of the pack.
I stayed there during the world cup 2022 week, slept really well on the first 2 days, credit to the room service dinner that I ordered every night (which, especially the Indonesian cuisine, can be improved substantially), and the funny thing is the customer service, Januar, would call after every dinner to get a feedback on how the food was, to which I gladly obliged and told them the truth, about the taste, and in a mishap there was a plastic piece from the food container on my plate (which was not a big deal for me), but they offer to replace the food for free.
Getting back to the room, on the 3rd day, there was a stay to my next door room (12-03), they would talk loudly until midnight, which can be heard clearly in my room (soundproofing improvement needed). Once the world cup match started at 1am, they would shout and clapped, do all these horrendous things. I finally called the guest service at 2am, since I still have to go to the office on the that day (and for the whole week). They did a check and confirmed it was that room, so they tried to calm the guest down to no avail, finally they did the next best thing which was to move me into a room with a quiet corner: It worked, no sound until morning.
I was very pleased on their willingness to do so. Everything went well, except that in the new room at night from 8-10:30 pm, there would be children from the guests above running around on the room above me, which again created loud disturbance booming sound on my room, but fortunately, they would always stop at around 10:30 pm, which is my bedtime anyway, so no further intervention was needed.
So here is my final score with 10 being the highest: Room: 8 Staff: 10 Food: 7 Hotel amenities and facilities: 9 Location : 9
PS: to those travellers/ guests that I mentioned, please be considerate of your surrounding and to those people that stay around you, they also need a good night's...
