Hotel Hollywood — Hotel in Jakarta

I have literally never stayed somewhere worse. Located in a slum, we arrived to a dirty room with rubbish, including food wrappers left in it. Obviously they only change the bedding between guests. The sink doesn't work in the bathroom, nor does the door close. There is also a repulsive smell coming from the room, and an open drain under the shower. The floor was also wet when we arrived, and has been the entire stay. Appalling! There is no window, and you can hear rats scurrying around and squeaking in the walls. I could forgive the window if the walls weren't painted dark grey! Aside from these many flaws in the room, there is air con and a hot shower. But these are the only positives. The staff (aside from security) are rude and unhelpful. They speak very little English, and one girl rolled her eyes at us when we asked a question she didn't understand. Disgraceful! So brought to the here and now, sitting in the smoky, dark lobby, the only place the WiFi works, and there is a member of staff playing the keyboard so ridiculously loudly I can't hear myself think. Oh, and it's 11pm. I cannit stress enough that we are not fussy travellers, and don't mind a little bit of rough round the edges living, but this was revolting. This hotel takes the cake in terms of being dirty, broken and unorganized. We have stayed at a fair few places on our trip which were pretty bad but this was terrible. Firstly, they put us in a room that was unbearably smelly so we requested a room change immediately. Next room still stunk but was bearable. The room was filthy though, the bed and pillows were dirty and the walls need a good wash as there is dirt and smudges everywhere. A/C didn't work properly and neither did the tv. Bathroom was not too bad until the drains started regurgitating and leaking waste all over the floor so we had to wear flip flops. Then their was a problem with water throughout the whole building, so no shower or toilet. Plus they don't supply toilet paper so we bought our own but then they took it when cleaning our room so I asked the cleaner for a possible replacement but he took ours out of the garbage and offered it back with a wet black stain on it lol. Also, wifi was terribly slow and the restaurant downstairs honestly had next to nothing advertised on the menu.|We are used to cheap, nasty accommodation but we would never stay here again or recommend it.
