I'm giving it 5 stars for its taste and this is an old bakery that has survived many years n new competitors. Many varieties of bread are availables but not many kind of birthday cake though. The good thing is since much people frequent this bakery, theres always new batch of freshly baked. The not so good thing though, i think they can do better with their payment system.. Once you have chosen all you wanted, they will lead u to this long table where they pack you bread at one side and scream your order to the cashier, which is at the other side of the table. This is... really.. not quiet ok for me because the bakery is not exactly calm and sometimes there can be 2 different staff screaming 2different orders to 2 different cashiers #facepalm I cant understand why they cant just bring the bread to the cashier so the cashier can directly see the bread n put it for bill. I still think its pretty risky n they almost got my bread packed for someone else because differemt staffs are packing different orders real close side by side. I think it will be wise to watch the staff who carry your bread closely if you were there. And make sure to check your bill! On side notes, they dont accept card here. Theres also no digital payment available, even the most common one like ovo/gopay/shopeepay as per day i write this. Its either cash or bank transfer. But they dont charge for shopping bag, you dont need to bring your own either. They got paper bag,...

It's always a pleasure to visit Suisse Bakery (Hayam Wuruk) area. I bought a variety of bread such as:

  1. Corned Beef - I thought it was something new with corned beef, but it had a very strong taste of corned beef.
  2. Peanuts - made from real peanuts, not marmalade, so it's highly recommended to buy.
  3. Cheese John - classic dough with cheese sprinkles topping.
  4. Bika Ambon - the best and a must-buy.
  5. Pandan Tikar - colorful layered chiffon cakes, green is my favorite.
  6. Kue Sus / Choux - typical choux that we can find in Indonesia.
  7. Donat Sate - a dough with sugar sprinkles.
  8. Roti Ayam - with peas and minced chicken fillings.
  9. Hot Dog - with sausage fillings, priced at 15K, the sausage is only half the size of a whole one and too small.

During my last visit, to be honest, there were a lot of changes in the bread dough, which is now softer rather than the real bread. The prices are quite high now. I miss the original taste that I...

Saya mencoba :

Long John (Rp. 12.000)

Saya sampai kaget begitu mencoba roti ini. Dulu long john di sini permukaannya renyah. Tidak creamy memang, tapi rasanya agak gurih. Menurut saya rasanya unik karena long john pada umumnya empuk.

Sekarang beda sekali. Adonan roti jadi tidak renyah seperti dulu. Rotinya jadi lebih creamy. Aroma rotinya pun jadi berubah.

Krimnya jadi beraroma agak aneh walau manisnya masih pas. Adonan rotinya sama kayak long john.

Harga roti standar jaman now memang 10 ribuan. Namun mostly cita rasanya justru...

A classic bakery in the heart of Gajah Mada, Jakarta. They sell old style breads freshly baked every day. As you enter, the smell of bread greets you warmly, with their bakers busy in the kitchen, right behind the bread counter. I love how you can get freshly baked bread, directly, still warm, or even hot. Nothing beats that sensation. Their bread is of the traditional style, a blast from the past. Fluffy, slightly chewy, and has that roasty note from old bread ovens. One thing that you must get for your visit is not the bread though. It's the Risoles. I must say that they have one of the best, if not the best Chicken Ragout Risoles in Jakarta.
