Mansion 28 — Hotel in Jakarta

It is a beautiful building with tasteful interior. Room was big, 40m2 enough space for an extra bed but some part of wallpaper starts to split. Found leftover rice on our carpet. Quilt cover and towel with stains. Limited tv channel. ||At 10.40pm while we were having family visit in hotel's dining room/restaurant a staff approached in pajama and told us that she has got a phone call from the owner who watched us from cctv camera that we only could stay in the dining room until 11pm. Even worse the owner "try to remind" us -thru her staff in pajama-to pay for the coffee we had as thou' we would cheat or not paying them. Somehow at this point it made me feel like i was a thief.||We didn't mind with rules long as rules are mentioned or stated in the first place( i didn't notice any written announcement stated restaurant/ dinning room open till 11pm) or by any other sensible way. ||However we are used to different kind of accommodation, hence if Mansion28 opt for such house rules maybe better try other online booking i.e. Airbnb where rules are commonly applied. ||We saw some tourists/expats went upstair to their rooms with local girls just like in hotel in general so it was bit contrary to what happened to us; guest who had family visit was being scolded. ||And to be in the knowledge being under surveillance by hotel's owner herself was not a nice...

Mansion 28 was my stay while in Jakarta for spending my Christmas and New Year time. Been in Sydney for couple years, Jakarta seems so busy here and there, but hey, this place soothe me out!|The building has a simple design from outside, but interior wise, quite outstanding for newcomers to enjoy. In hotel perspective, bed-shower-room was neat and tidy, nothing to complain of. ||One thing I should mention is their willingness to held a mini party for new year eve. I know this thing sounds cheesy, but you don't find many mini-hotel like this who even considering a small festive like that. It makes you knew new people (fellow guests and staffs), enjoying the band, blowing trumpets, etc. Really appreciate whoever behind it. ||In conclusion, although u can relate that room rate was quite expensive for such small hotel, Mansion 28 has their own quality to prove you wrong. While the taxi driver missed the hotel twice due to the lack of any signage apart from the house number - once there , it is a great spot to stay in south Jakarta. Spacious, well appointed rooms. Nice-sized pool and very friendly staff. And during the downpour in the evening, the lovely owner offered to drop me at a close by location by her personal car and driver due to the notorious Jakarta traffic and lack of taxis. |I'll be back to experience this hotel a little longer than...
