I went here on Sunday night at 18.30, the atmosphere and ambiance was great and we enjoyed the service. Food: Amuse-bouche: Overall 8/10, including great presentation & FREE! Chawanmushi: 7/10, chawanmushi topped with sweet sauce balancing the sourness from the miso soup and mayo on the cucumber roll Miso soup: 6.5/10, it is too sour for my tastebuds Cucumber Roll: 6.5/10, normal taste (rice+cucumber+mayo) Sukiyaki: 7/10, although they are a sukiyaki based restaurant, their sukiyaki was only okay, nothing too crazy but it is still good (+ point for the uniqueness of using candy floss). I recommend getting the Australian Wagyu Rib Eye and just skip the Black Angus choice if you can afford it, but on normal occasion, Black Angus is already sufficient for the sukiyaki. Yakiniku Ju: 9.5/10, this is what you must order when you come here. It taste excellent! the taste of their short rib boneless meat, covered in yakiniku sauce, and finished by the soft boiled egg. It is AMAZING, if I come here again, 10/10 will re-order the menu. Wagyu Makizushi: 8.5/10, describing this would be the same as the yakiniku ju since it has similar taste but the difference is we get a combined flavor between the sweetness of the wagyu, sourness from the rice, and crunchiness from the asparagus. A great sushi and it is also a MUST try sushi here. Wagyu Gyoza: 8/10, the gyoza has generous filling and it is different from other gyoza's because of the meat quality. It also has cheese on top with chili to balanced the gyoza flavor. Japanese Fried Rice: 6.5/10, taste okay but I still do recommend getting the yakiniku ju over everything. Free Matcha: Will not rate this one because I do not like matcha but the taste of the matcha is bitter.

Drinks: Hot tea: Free refill hot tea Pear Mocktail (sorry forgot the name):good. sour, sweet, with thyme/rosemary (sorry cannot differentiate xD)

Overall, dinner at Shiki Jakarta is an amazing experience. Service, ambiance, atmosphere was great. They also have specialized chef that will explain how to cook the sukiyaki and actually cook it first to you to give an example. For the food, they always want to balance the taste of the food by making sure this food is not too sweet/not too salty/not too sour by giving us the combination of the toppings (very much appreciated of the detail) and they give you the bitter matcha to balance your tastebud after eating savory dishes. If you ever come here, make sure to order the Yakiniku Ju. Thank you for the dining experience, Shiki! Will be...

Shiki Dharmawangsa: A Modern Sukiyaki Experience with a Twist

Just a stone's throw from home, Shiki Dharmawangsa surprised me with its unique take on Japanese cuisine. The sleek, black interior instantly transported me to a modern Tokyo eatery, and the attentive service only enhanced the ambiance.

The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the Sukiyaki. Watching it meticulously prepared in front of us, complete with the unexpected addition of candy floss, was a delightful spectacle. The taste itself was truly excellent - the flavors were perfectly balanced and the ingredients fresh and high-quality. The candy floss added a touch of playfulness and sweetness that I haven't encountered before in Sukiyaki, making it a memorable experience.

While the Sukiyaki stole the show, the Salmon Kamameshi fell a bit flat. It lacked the punch of flavor that I expect from this dish, and I found it slightly bland.

However, the exceptional service made up for any shortcomings in the food. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive to our needs, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience.

Overall, Shiki Dharmawangsa is a great option for those seeking a modern and unique take on...

Came here for a second time after a positive first visit. While the food, service, atmosphere and all is great, there is a compulsory valet parking policy which makes no sense. On my second visit, we were the only customers in the entire restaurant, so I was able to park the car directly in front of the restaurant myself, however I was handed a ticket and was forced to pay for valet parking. I parked myself with no assistance from anybody, and I am holding onto my key, but yet I was told this is a compulsory policy from the management. I verified this with the restaurant staff, and they also claimed this is compulsory. For those who know, parking at any restaurant in Jakarta, as long as there is empty spaces directly in front of the restaurant, you never have to...

Shiki Dharmawangsa sets itself apart by offering a modern yet deeply respectful take on Japanese cuisine. Shiki’s menu focuses on seasonality, premium ingredients, and the artistry of Japanese cooking. Their specialty is Kansai-Style Sukiyaki. A theatrical experience, this version uses A5 Kagoshima, Sher Wagyu, or Black Angus beef grilled tableside, then simmered in a delicate soy-based sauce. The addition of cotton candy (yes, really) melts into the broth, imparting just a touch of sweetness — a playful yet elegant twist that sets this dish apart. Service at Shiki is thoughtful, unobtrusive, and professional. The pacing of dishes is smooth, and the attention to detail — from presentation to table setting — reflects fine-dining standards.
