I've been wanting to try this AYCE for years now hahahaha so I came in today with 5 of my friends. We ordered the ..... I actually forgot the package but it is one above the cheapest ones, the one with wagyu saikoro.
We, obviously ordered a lot of wagyu saikoro. Honestly, if you dont cook it right, it wont be that enjoyable. We tried cooking by ourselves vs the one cooked by the staff, its like totally different hahaha. The one cooked by the staff is more tender and juicy, as opposed to what we cooked. Probably cuz we didnt know the right done-ness so sometimes could be under or overcooked.
Other meat nothing special really. Do try and eat their gyutan salad, its refreshing tho the gyutan was too few. Make sure you eat your meat with your kimchi so your palate gets something different every now and then.
Love their ogura ice cream!! And the staff there was very accomodating. There were 6 of us seated in one table and the cooking process was taking too long. So we asked whether we can use two table to cook the meat and they said yes; simply because there wasnt that many people dining in at that time. Oh FYI we came in at Wednesday 7.30PM.
Their toilet is located outside at the 2nd floor so a bit hassle going to the toilet. My tips is just to make sure you book several tables if you are a party of more than 4 people, because it is simply inefficient to cook for 6 people using 1 grill.
The ayce doesnt include drinks & rice! But yesh do try it. The wagyu saikoro (if cooked properly) tasted...
Read moreReservation is a must in this restaurant as it only has 8-10 tables. Their location are also quite hidden as the entrance can only be accessed from the basement parking area. They use charcoal grill so it adds to more flavor for the meat. I also have to mention that the exhaust were really good there, our clothes dont smell like smoke after the meal. Loved it.
We went with the special yakiniku AYCE option. The food (meat cuts and side dishes) were good, especially the Wagyu Sakikoro and the Tofu Chige (!). Just dont miss it if you're there. The other meat cuts were also nice, but the waiter didn't tell us the name of each cut so we just ate those not knowing which one's which.
Service on the other hand was poor. We didn't get any explanation about the menu other than the AYCE list, so there's a chance we missed some of the better ala-carte food option. And it took about an hour for one of our side dish to arrive. Request for condiments and drink refills were also slow.
The waiter even failed to meet our request to serve the desert for after we finished our meal, he just brought it immediately and leave the one-time-order-only ice cream to melt at the tabe.
Overall, Yakinikuya is really a unique japanese bbq place. But to me, it just...
Read moreTrying one of Tokyo BBQ place in South Jakarta area, located in Basement area of Dharmawangsa Square, Yakinikuya. I and friends need to make reservations a day before for a selected period of time (meal time is set for 90 minutes, but beware, they're pretty crowded and the staff have a very bad time management skill and attitude, totally a big turn off for me 😤). We booked for 1 PM time slot, they chat us and tell to come at 12.30 PM, when I and my friends arrived, we need to wait for the table that still used by previous customer for approximately 20 minutes, and after 45 minutes of eating, one of the rude staff informed us, that the eating time is almost over and rudely tell us that we need to make last order because the next customer is coming (what in the world?! 😤). Meat quality is pretty nice and I totally recommend their Misuji, Ichibo and Beef Enoki Roll, and several of their side dishes like Tofu Soup, Pancake and Kimchi, but of course not match the price alongside with poor services. For this visit to Yakinikuya, i'm gonna rate them 3.5 out of 5 (thanks to the poor services). For more info about foods, kindly visit...
