Second Floor Coffee Wijaya — Restaurant in Jakarta

Disclaimer, I visited on the day when Jakartans went back to WFH mode. Despite the unrest, the place was relatively busy at 3pm.

The flat white was excellent! I asked to switch to double ristretto as opposed to espresso and they accommodated my request. The result was smooth velvety concoction, nuttiness from the milk and ristretto balanced the overall flavor. I would come back for this.

Tried the Fresamentado as their signature coffee and I was very surprised at the presentation and taste. This is something you have to try for yourself - it is good but I’ll stick to the classic unsweetened flat white any day.

Music was chill, perfect for WFC session, toilet was clean, parking space is ample, valet is available. Only input is, chair could be more comfy and please adjust AC temperature, it was too cold that my coffee went cold...

This branch is super crowded which makes the service less pleasant since they are busy serving. Two points here, the waiter is probably new, cannot explain and recommend the menu well, which should be the signature of the Second Floor hospitality; second one, it seems they are not consistent on explaining the experience, but luckily one with us, quickly ask whether we are 1st time, and explain briefly, which is a kudo.

My order today is disappointing. I tried Red Queen, which the taste is overly sweet which topples their pride of great with mixing (organic) flavors. It's a total disaster. The overly sweet probably obtained from the water contained on their lychee. The oversweet level is reaching the level where you felt choked on the throat, which is in the terrible level.

Reduced 2 stars for flavor and...

Visiting this branch for the 4th time but have to say this time around I'm quite disappointed. If you think of come alone just don't, they will tell you that all the bigger tables are reserved and force you to sit with other people, despite your objection that it's too noisy and you can literally hear other people's talking.

I came with 2 vacant tables being "reserved", and despite being reserved not a single person came and sat there in the 1+ hour I was there. Some tables were cleaned during the hour I was there, and again the staffs put the reserved sign immediately. Another solo visitor was seated in shared table with me despite having 5 tables empty?

This is my first time coming alone to any Second Floor branch, and never knew they treat solo...
