The 4 share dorm is tiny and has a tiny window. The beds are so incredibly noisy, it’s unbelievable. I could live with that. But, there are also extremely loud announcements from the port next door all night long and also a mosque very near. So between the port, the squeaky beds, the mosque and the chickens, I have no clue how in the world you’re supposed to get any sleep. And I am NOT a light sleeper. There is one bathroom, that is one toilet, one tiny crusty sink and one shower head fixed to the wall in the same room. It is thoroughly disgusting. There is no handsoap, all you germophobes imagine how gross, and there was no toilet paper after 6 pm all night! Because there is no attendance at night. Please leave a supply of toilet paper and handsoap it’s the minimum! And update your washrooms! The price of 115 000 irp might seem cheap but for Indonesia and this kind of accomodation, it is highway robbery. I have paid the same amount for brand new hostels with state of the art and spotless washrooms in Indonesia. |I arrived and there was no one to check me in. It was 5pm and it says reception closes at 6pm. I called and the manager/owner came up to get me my bed. The guy was really chilled and nice and had to go see his sick dad. I feel for him but this hostel needs a staff on duty 24 hours a day. Someone else showed up at 7:45 am. But the hostel was unattended from 5 pm until 7:45 am the next day. I will say my sheets were clean and the pillow was comfortable. Padangbai is not...
Read moreThe hostel itself was nice - we had a private room, which was clean and nicely decorated. It’s up about 60 steep stairs but we didn’t find it too bad. It means you get a good view from the top! The shared bathroom was fine, if a bit dirty - it had soap and toilet roll most of the time we were there. The hostel is definitely in a noisy location but the private rooms were sheltered a bit from the noise and we slept fine.||What was frustrating was buying the fast boat tickets to the Gili islands through the hostel. We were quoted 500k for each return ticket but when we found the price cheaper in town (350k), the owner said this was because the boat ticket he was selling was safer. He agreed to go down to 900k for both tickets and assured us we could use the tickets to sail between the Gili islands as well as to and from Bali. So we went with him. When we got to the office to collect our tickets we saw it was the same office where we had been quoted 700k return! Frustrating but too late at that point. We had been oversold by the hostel. The most annoying bit was finding out the ticket didn’t include travel between the Gili islands as we were told (I clarified several times with him as this seemed too good to be...
Read moreA nice, quiet and cozy hostel. It's close to the port, but you can not hear the noise. If you come in the evening, better have a flashlight, because the last 200 m walks through a narrow and a bit dark alley. The service is in the hostel until 6pm. If you will arrive later, let them know earlier. Owner will wait for you. Also you can find whatsapp number on main doors. The hostel has a common room with a large table, chairs and a couch. There is also big balcony with harbour view. Only inconvinience: one bathroom and toilet for all rooms. Owner is very kind and friendly. He remember everybody's names, which is super nice. I booked dorm with 4 beds. In room there's no window to open, but still is ok. There are: big fan on ceiling, small fan on the wall and AC. Bed is very comfortable, mattress is soft. The bottom bed is wider ;) Breakfast is included and you have lots of options: fried eggs, scramble eggs, pancakes and toast. Also you will get drink (coffee/tea/juice) and watermelon. Good price, nice people and...
