Makai Uluwatu — Hotel in Kuta Selatan

What can I say - we had a genuinely unbeatable stay at Makai Uluwatu! The villa is incredible with everything you could want - beautiful views, infinity pool, gym, sunken lounge, banging kitchen....the list goes on. The aesthetic is spot on - cool, industrial, minimalist chic with pops of colour in the curated artwork. There are thoughtful touches everywhere and a whole host of comfy nooks to take a rest and soak in the atmosphere. The location is perfect. A quick scooter ride, or short walk, will get you to a whole bunch of restaurants (top picks: Alchemy, Ours, Cashew Tree, Drifter, Krishna's Kitchen) or down to the beach (recommend braving the steps down to Kelly's Warung for loaded fries and a cold beer) We didn't want to leave and can't wait to visit again - it felt just...

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Makai villa. This is without doubt the best 2 bed villa around - the amount of space and amenities you get is brilliant. The pool area is beautiful and gets sun nearly all of the day, enough room to seat 10 and we even made good use of the BBQ! Inside the villa does not disappoint either with plentiful space in the communal areas and a fully equity kitchen! Good technology throughout also loved using the Sonos and WiFi that actually works. Not to mention the downstairs gym area which really sealed the deal. Staff and the owner were also incredibly accommodating and helpful which just made everything such a breeze. Makai Uluwatu is one of those places you wanna keep a secret because it’s too good to be true. ;) Besides the best view you will find on the Bukit - you literally have a 180 degree view and can see Mount Agung aka Mama Bali on clear days, this place makes you never wanna leave. The beds are so comfy - I had the best sleep in years! The terrace, the pool area, the kitchen are making these hot tropical days just perfect and did I mention that I had my own gym in the basement??
