After being on Lombok for a week it doesn’t take long to get back into the chaos of Bali traffic. Our driver took the scenic route to Nusa Dua/Benoa. Once we were on the main road he turned off into a succession of small Gangs or laneways until we were at our destination which was literally a motorbike park and behind it a reception area. I missed the significance of the dual names – Palm Garden and Terrace Bali Villas, but I’ll get to that later. It seemed we were in the depths of nowhere but as we found out later on foot we were only a couple of hundred metres from the road.||We were shown where the restaurant was for breakfast, and the honesty fridge for beers, and around past the pool and units to the narrow lane leading to the villas. We were in Villa 2. Beautiful old gates set into the wall with bougainvillea flowing over the top. Stepping inside we saw our private plunge pool and garden and to the right the open air lounge , kitchen & bar. It all looked very nice but as we found out later the kitchen part of it is really superfluous as no-one cooks when there are restaurants every few meters along the road. Big screen TV, big, new fridge (no ice as usual) and into the bedroom which opened through French doors onto the pool area. A large room, with even larger bed, side tables and another TV on the wall, and a wardrobe with safe (no instructions, also as usual). On into the large bathroom with double sinks, toilet and a large wet room shower. All very well presented and clean.||As we were finding there were no binders with any information, on anything! There was a nice garden area at the rear and a traditional bale. All very nice and well kept. We found out next day how and why when the cleaning gang descended and cleaned everything, including the pool and sweeping the lawn.||Tons of local TV channels and quite a few Fox channels, and an Australian ABC channel to keep up with the news back home. The latter channels were a bit scratchy, but watchable.||Breakfast was quite good, freshly cooked and prepared, and complimentary, where we were anyway. There were 12 units around the central pool and four villas. The difference being that the villas were separate from the units, hence Palm Gardens and Terrace Villas. Palm Gardens provided the management and reception end of the deal.||It is conveniently located, close to restaurants and mini markets, and the beach, even though that is nothing to write home about. Nusa Dua? Not sure why you would come back. There is nothing there but high-end hotels and a lot of questionable quality restaurants. There are certainly better places to go in Bali. There is none of the charm of the country and the people. It is just so like so many other tropical cities. My opinion anyway for what...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed four nights in Villa 3 and there are plenty of negatives to share. Firstly, I want to say that the villa itself is amazing - if only everything worked!||First of all, the villas are located on the Palm Garden Hotel property. The Palm Garden staff handle check-in and are the on-site staff. With the exception of a couple of members, we were very disappointed with the staff there. It was without doubt the worst service we received in or two weeks in Bali. We stayed at similar places in both Ubud and Uluwatu and the customer service in both was outstanding, but here in Nusa Dua the service was lacking. For starters, the staff here had limited English. This wasn’t an issue anywhere else in Bali throughout our vacation. ||As for the villa itself, it is set up nicely and a perfect spot to relax. The private pool was wonderful! Now, here is the problem. Basically every day we were there something would stop working. One day the TV didn’t work and workers had to be in the unit for hours. Half of our time the WiFi was down. Two of the days the water was turned off for multiple hours. Each time I would call the front desk I was treated as if I was a nuisance and a couple of times the Palm Garden staff member on the other end of the line was just plain rude.||Let me some of your by saying that I do not recommend anyone stay there. It’s a real shame, because the property has so...
Read moreThis is the perfect place to stay for families. We stayed there with my husband, mom and baby and all the staff was really kind, specially with my one year old baby. For a mum it is one of the most important things, that your child is treated well, and these guys were fabulous. They treated him as a prince lol. They gave him fruit all mornings, and very playfull with him all the time. Even though some of the staff didnt speak very good english they tried their best to satisfied their guests. They were just amazing. The rooms very clean, incredible food, great customer service. It is a very familar place to stay, very cozzy. We had free shuttle service to the beach every day which was also very useful.||||Also, the owner and her husband helped us incredibly one day. Unfortunately, we were unlucky when changing our money to the local currency. It is VERY IMPORTANT to go to known places to do this. We went to a place that seemed to be serious but unfortunately they stoled our money. The owner´s husband helped us to get back our money. They went with us to the place we changed our money (where we were stoled) and the owner´s husband told the guy to give us our money back. So, he returned the stoled money. We are very greatful with all the staff of this amazing Hotel. Thank you so much to make us have a great time even though this bad...
