Decent food, nothing too great - we went here on the basis there were many reviews from actual Indian people and not made up bots like some restaurant reviews.
Upon arrival we were seated on a table which we had quickly noticed was quite unclean - there was curry on the floor and a few hairs on chairs!
We were further disappointed to be told that they don't do poppadoms with chutney's - probably the first Indian restaurant I've been to that doesn't offer this. We decided to order chilli paneer & papdi chaat for starters, followed by butter chicken, garlic naan and their ashoki mutton curry for mains.
The chilli paneer was decent although it had a slight hint of an almost tabasco sauce in it which was slightly unusual to say the least. The papdi chaat was really nice!
Onto the mains - the butter chicken wasn't so much of a butter chicken, regardless of this it was pretty nice - the gravy was more of a homemade curry rather than a thick creamy buttery gravy.
The naan bread was more of a roti - was very thin and had no garlic flavour to it. The mutton curry was returned as all 3 pieces I had put on my plate were full of fat which was off-putting to say the least. The waitress was courteous enough to offer to take this back and remove this from the bill without us even asking, which is always a nice thing!
Overall we left quite hungry, we hope this was just an off day as the reviews seem very genuine - unfortunately for us we couldn't say we had the...
Read moreLocation : 9/10 Located near a lot of water sports activities in Nusa Dua, the restaurant had amazing flavour which hit the spot
Ambience : 8/10 The interiors are minimalist and have an open concept, If you want a relaxing meal, its a great place
Food : 8.5/10 We ate multiple options for Veg and some Non Veg food.
Drinks: THE TEA WAS HEAVEN, Indians in bali crave good tea, and here we had great Ginger Tea, it was lovely â¤ď¸
We also had mango lassi, which hit the spot and paired well with the food
Snacks: The Samosa's tasted great, and had a very homey taste, great satiety fully satisfied.
Veg Main Course: We ordered Dosa and Daal Makhni, The dosa was crispy and similar to haldiram in taste, the filled could have had a bit of a kick.
The daal makhni was as imagined and our go to favourite for the meal.
Non Veg Main Course: I had the butter chicken and it was great, it was a mix between a classic butter chicken and tawa chicken gravy.
Breads/ Roti's: Butter Naans- 7/10 they lacked the classic chew Butter Roti- 9/10 soft rotis and crispy edges
Overall Review: DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE, a home...
Read moreI was flattered by the service they gave us. We told uncle that we didn't had a good food in a while so we are here. And guess what. ? The owner himself took care of our food preparation and suggested the menu also. The food was too good. Just like home. And they literally served us half plate of sabzi on our demand and charged accordingly. In india also people refuse to serve half plate sabzi. They served butter fulka that was the cherry on the cake When i asked them about the jain food and non-veg food in the same restaurant they told us the facts and the sufferings of their wife when they visited Bali almost 6 years ago. Owner uncle is punjabi from delhi and Aunty is Jain from meerut. They didn't got any pure vegetarian meal when they visited to bali and because pf that aunty had fasts for seven days. Since uncle was from hotel management background, they decided to start a hotel at bali. And i felt v happy that they are running pure vegetarian restaurant in different kitchen with all together different utensils using for preparation and servings. A good food with a good...
