It is a very instagrammable villa with the right filters, but far from actually being a lux accommodation... It "looks great" but it really skin-deep if that.
All the furniture had stains... the lounge, the dining chair and table. The whole villa wasn't very well maintained. Even the floatie you hire is patched up and worn (even though it costs around $10AUD a day to hire). Doors in the room didn't close properly even after they sent maintenance to "fix" it.
I got my sheets changed every day since every day I got given linen that was stained and/or torn linen. The rooms aren't serviced/cleaned very well well nor stocks replaced. I had to regularly ask for water/toilet paper/towels/amenities replaced as it was not done during daily room clean.
I honestly do not know if it was because I was solo or what... since few reviewers here said they had great service. However, I experienced the worst service in this place compared to other villas/hotels I've stayed at in Bali. Actually worst service I received in an accommodation anywhere. They weren't very friendly one of the reception girls look like it actually pained her to smile.
Unfortunately for me, I got extremely sick during my stay here and I actually dreaded dealing with them due to my experience prior. I eventually mustered enough energy to call them... I told reception that I was very ill and in need of a doctor to come to the villa (their accommodation book says to contact them) and how much it would cost. She said she will get back to me and she came back telling me that it will cost 8 million rupiah excluding medicine, which is absurd. So I told them, that's fine I will find a doctor myself. So I googled and got a good reviewed place and was quoted less than 1/4 of the price including medicine.
What actually left even worse taste in my mouth about the whole ordeal was that they didn't even ask me if there is anything they could help me with, or even come check on if I was OK after I called reception. The time between me calling them and the doctor coming was at least 1.5hr-2hrs. So hopefully, you don't ever get sick while you stay in the hotel.
So because of this experience, I would not recommend this villa for a solo traveller, being sick in a foreign country is hard enough but if you can't really rely on your accommodation staff it makes it even tougher. I have no doubt in any of my other hotels/villas I stayed with in Bali would've gone out of their way to help due to the type of service I received from them for even minor stuff.
I must admit that the next day, the receptionist advised that the hotel manager organised a free chicken congee for my breakfast the day after. But it felt like it was half-hearted.
Also curtains aren't blackout curtains if that is of importance. I didn't mind so much, but it does get bright when sun rises even with the curtains closed. As some reviewers have mentioned walls are paper thin, so you will near your neighbours...
Location wise it's not too bad, only draw back is that nearest decent convenience store is around 10min walk away. But it's cheap to get around by go-ride or grab anywhere in Legian, Kuta, Seminyak from the villa if you don't have a scooter/motorbike.
I only ordered room service once, it was average. Given that it is not really near any shops if you want to stay around the hotel and lounge around - I recommend ordering via go-jek or grab. Or there are few good restaurants around within 10-15min walk way.
However, even before I got sick I wondered how this villa has such high ratings with all the drawbacks I noticed. I would've rated 2 or 3 stars out of 5 prior to getting...
Read moreAs I reached the villa at about 2pm but did not notify the counter staff about my earlier arrival, I had to patiently wait till 3pm for my booked villa to be made available. So, I walked to the nearby cofffee shop to kill time whilst waiting for the 3pm check-in time. The nearest coffee shop was located at less than 1km away from the villa. Generally, eatery places were made accessible on foot after about 5 - 8 minutes of normal-pace walking. On first glance, the villa's interior design looked great for couples to chill and have fun. Built-in facilities were quite complete with a NetFlix subscription, a bathtub situated right in the middle of the villa, and a private pool. However, most of the additional services in the villa required extra payment (either by cash or by credit card - the latter payment method is preferred by the staff). For example, I wished to have a floating breakfast on the next morning, but I had to pay about 750k+ to rent the basket (the final amount was nearly 900k due to the usual taxes). This particular matter was somehow not explicitly mentioned in the Trip.com website as I booked the breakfast set almost a month ago. Inflatable floats and wines were also charged with reasonable prices.Pool water in the private villa did not seem totally clean, as there was some dirt particles clearly floating on the water surface. As the pool was not fully shielded from above, so it was understandable to observe a few fallen leaves. The surrounding sitting place (with cushions) however, did not seem conducive for prolonged sitting due to the rather filthy appearance. On the next morning, I had to make a gentle reminder call for my breakfast sets to be delivered to the doorstep. I made a call after 10 minutes have passed the originally agreed time. Nevertheless, the pre-ordered food and drink for 2 person were nice.In summary, my short stay (for 1 night only) was considered a good one, but there was certainly room for improvement especially with regards to the pool water quality and the pricing menu shown on the...
Read moreThe room that we stayed in is not well maintained. The platform above the the pool for you to rest on are filled with hair and ants. The floor is sticky and dusty. The proximity between each villa is extremely close. You could hear every door bell ringing, things they were playing on their spotify and conversations they were saying without straining your ears.
During our stay, our neighbours next door were extremely noisy. They were literally shouting early in the morning and late at night. Nothing that the management could do and it's not the management's fault for the guests' behaviour but the proximity and noise generated is just a huge turn-off for us. They did try a service recovery (which is appreciative) by giving us a free breakfast in the pool but the damage was already done. So if you wanna bet the fate of your vacation on your neighbours, please go...
