IBAB BALI — Restaurant in Kuta

I was recommended this place through word of mouth. I check the reviews of IBAB, almost 1200 glowing reviews, can't be wrong right?

We ordered babi panggang, babi goreng sambal matah, and babi goreng cabe garam. Our food delivery arrived, and I opened the food with much excitement.

We first tried the babi panggang. The first bite almost confirms that IBAB is a great pork place. The babi panggang is juicy, savoury and delicious. Add the green chili and it's perfect. Reminds me of lapo batak style pork.

Then we tried the babi goreng sambal matah and cabe garam. It was terrible. I'm not sure if it was due to delivery (only 1.3 km), but the meat was just bad. Flavor was nothing special, the meat is tough to chew and not juicy. I can understand if it is not very crispy due to delivery but the entire taste just sucks. I have tasted a lot of sambal matah, this is weak in comparison. The cabe garam sauce is also very very mehhhh. I thought I'm the odd one out, but the others eating it agreed with me.

Will never order again. What a bad experience. How can you get so many things bad? If the taste isn't great at least give us nice juicy pork. But no, we get tough, dry and not enjoyable meat.

What an overrated place with...

Their self proclaimed "number 1 pork roast specialist" turns out so ordinary in taste and also portion especially the price. Their still a lot of places dont have to claim their number one but taste way better.

The portion of the roast pork are too small for IDR 42k and they said the satay is included in the package menu but they said it was sold out but they're not trying to replace it with something else or maybe add more of the roast pork so the im not gonna upset about it. The soup that come with the packege also cold and not hot.

I ordered 2 portion of roast pork, 2 rice and 2 non sugar ice tea, comes with IDR 147k++ bill. Which make me very surprised, with that kind of portion, quality and no aircon place they charge me above IDR 100k. Not to mention the crispy pork skin, thats a joke, no man could chew or maybe bite it. hard as a stone.

For a first timer, definitely NOT gonna comeback and recommend it to any of my jakartans people. I will prefer babi sei gimbo or maybe souphoria bali instead for the taste...

Food was good, but their service was terrible! I was there, sitting down for half an hour but there was no waiter come to my table to take an order or even give me the menu, i came to the cashier area to ask about the menu, and order from there. After another half an hour, my food still not served, i need to check with their ONE AND ONLY incharge waitress, and she said my food is almost ready. After i finished my lunch, my husband's food still not served, again i need to go the cashier and they gave me someone else's food to me, it's the same with the food that i ordered tho' but can you imagine if i only sit down and wait? I believe my husband will starve to death! Too bad, it was full house but only ONE waitress on duty! Next time i would prefer order with gofood rather than go to the restaurant again and experience the same thing.. IBAB BABI, please hire extra waiters,...
