Abia Cafe & Bar — Restaurant in Kuta

Really terrible unfortunately.. stopped in for some lunch.. had to get up and go to the bar to order as the staff didn't come back to the table for a while after getting the menu, even though the restaurant was practically empty. I ordered soft tortilla chicken tacos.. when they arrived, and this is not an exaggeration, there was about half a teaspoon of pico de gallo mixed with what seemed to be ketchup, and then half a teaspoon of what seemed like stale guacamole mixed with sour cream.. both ridiculous 'portions'.. I asked the staff if I could have some more pico de gallo, without any sauce, she acknowledged and then came back with a portion of sour cream, facepalm. The tortillas themselves didn't seem fresh, tacos themselves were very underwhelming, lacking flavour, and seemed like the cheap white kraft cheese was grated on top. Stopped by here for breakfast and was shocked to see 21% service and tax. I know that is standard in Bali to charge ++, but 21% is for fine dining and big resorts. Many fine diningg places only charge 17%...This is a small road side Cafe. I was served cheap water bottle with plastic straw. Not 5star resort quality I expected for a 21%add on. I had the eggs Bennie. The whole dish tasted like vinegar, super stingy with their version of "hollandaise" or whatever they thought that was. And the bacon was such a tiny portion and crumbled to bits.

Oh yeah, and when I arrived and sat down, the chair completely fell apart and broke. I was embarrassed and it kind hurt my arm when I hit the ground. I am not an overweight person.... I was really hoping I'd like this place as it is walking distance from...

A really lovely place on the bank of the river, recently opened so everything is spotlessly clean and comfortable. There is covered cool outside seating and the inside seating has very good aircon . There is a big screen tv and they also have regular live music nights too. The staff here are a great asset to the place always very friendly and helpful. Service is quick and efficient and they all speak very good English 👍 The menu is extensive with a good choice for vegetarians also. Wether you come for their tasty breakfasts, great dinners or just to chill out with a great mojito I would highly recommend this place to get away from the noise and hassle of the centre of town.
