Puri Dewa Bharata Hotel & Villas — Hotel in Kuta

Avoid this hotel! Don’t let yourself get fooled by the photos and descriptions. Yes, the garden looks nice and is well maintained but the rest, the Essentials just not!! Many descriptions for the hotel’s facilities and services on booking platforms and the hotels own website are misleading, incorrect or outdated.

There is no Wellness center, Massage, Sauna or Spa, no Bike rental, no Bar or Lounge as officially advertised and most importantly… There is also no room service, no pool service and no restaurant service! It’s all a fake.

It’s a very old and half-rotten hotel. Everything is worn, moldy and filthy dirty, nothing gets properly cleaned. Bathroom installations look horrible, stained and dirty and most bathrooms have a disgusting smell. Towels are stained, have holes or are ripped.

The hotels location is far away from the beach and very noisy due to traffic noises from a very busy road which leads to a highway. It’s like being close to a motorbike racing track, that noisy it is. Particularly in the rooms of the main building one only can sleep with ear-plugs. The so-called villa-rooms are a bit quieter but very dark, almost like a cave and there you have to deal with plenty of co-inhabitants (lizards, lots of all kind of insects, particularly mosquitos and termites and… even rats). Mosquito fogging and general pest control doesn’t happen here neither.

Wi-Fi is something as from the stone-age of the Internet, probably the worst all over Bali, extremely slow and unstable with constant long interruptions. Internet in this hotel is practically not useable! Beware if you rely on daily Internet access! Not even the telephones are working. Guests can’t even call the reception or the restaurant because the telephones are broken.

Staff is mainly unmotivated, slow and lazy, more focused on their mobile phones than on the guests needs, some of them are even quite rude. And don’t you (yes you, the guest) dare to complain about anything! The hotels motto towards guests seems to be “Pay your bill but keep your mouth shut”.

Swimming pool water doesn't look very inviting because it is obviously not regularly treated. Pool lounge chairs are very limited, some half broken and with their mattresses ripped and dirty and very often drenched by rain waters. Not even pool towels are provided. The toilet by the pool is the most disgusting one can imagine!!

Breakfast is very simple and boring (a la carte), which means a choice between continental breakfast (spongy toast and eggs) and fried rice or noodles. Breakfast tables, dishes and cutlery are never clean and there are ants all over the place. The coffee pot doesn’t seem to got cleaned for decades.

An overall lack of hygiene and cleanliness is the biggest issue in this hotel!!

Indonesian guests might be used to this and probably not even care but Westerners should better stay away from this hotel and look for...

The staff particularly at reception and in cleaning were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located towards the end of a busy street which has good shopping but the downside is the traffic noise you get with a popular street. The hotel itself is quite dated, it needs more attention to cleaning and just more love all around. The breakfast was basic but the fresh eggs made while you wait were great!The mosquito fogging in the arvies was not very healthy and to be honest did nothing to help the mosquitos buzzing around our room that night. Bring your Cinnabalm or mossie cream!It definitely wasn't a favourite of ours, but with some better beds, more care in cleaning and some more vibrancy, life and better breaky this hotel could really thrive. It was like a ghost town waiting for someone to come in and just love it more. The staff did their best I'm sure though. Maybe some frangipani's on the made beds each day to bring some fragrance in, a good scrub of those baths, some mats instead of the cardboard at the base of the steps, some tour offers, activities offers etc, and more life around reception and just some more general care and attention to detail throughout the hotel would be a 4 1/2...

The WORST place ever. They fight with you over extra towel or bottle of water, literally fight with you saying NO. You get only two towels of medium size, without face towels, or anything, and they expect that this is enough if two people stay in the room. So you have to use one towel for everything. When asking for slippers, they said no and after insisting and fighting with them, they manage suddenly to find it. And like this with everything that you ask for. The cleaners are specially rude, no hello and goodybe even when they deliver something, also arguing for everything you ask for. After putting DND sign on my door, and specifically telling that I don’t want anybody in my room, while I’m not there, they ENTERED MY ROOM WITHOUT PERMISSION when I wasn’t there a few times, and went through my stuff(i left gopro as a proof) They denied everything, and I immediately canceled the rest of my stay, and checked out. also, you can hear the neighbors talking in the room and on the balconies, there is zero isolation and privacy. The breakfast is eggs and fruit It would maybe be doable to stay there without that horrible stuff that ruin your holiday. I Will never go...
