Jungle Bungalows — Hotel in Lombok

Booked a stay here 10 months ago, recently amending the booking to stay an additional night. During the amendment, they made an error on the pricing at their end which I wasn't aware of. I paid the cost about a week before arrival, still no issue. Then, the day before my stay I was contacted by the owner to say they had made a mistake and the price was going to be 150 aud per night. If I didn't pay they would cancel my booking.

On arrival, it transpired it wasn't even worth $15 a night. The track up to it was awful - and it stopped around 400m away because some concrete was being laid in the road. So I had to park my sccoter in a field and carry my bags the rest of the way. The area leading up to the villas was just a series of building sites with crap everywhere - it looked like Gaza. On arrival I was shown to the room and it was pretty grim. Very basic, and not clean - other people have stated the rooms are clean which is just not true. There was mould and damp all through the bathroom and no towels.

I immediately looked for alternative accommodation and left. I would not recommend this...

My 2 week stay at Jungle Bungalows could not have been better. I received a warm welcome from the friendly host who met me to check me in. The day and evening security guys were super nice and friendly too. The location is just 5 mins on a scooter from Kuta town. The host will rent you a scooter, mine was fairly new and great value. The bungalow was sound proofed, I never heard my neighbours. Very secure. Clean. They had everything you would need including water and VERY fast WiFi. It offered the perfect place to work. I would highly recommend staying at Jungle Bungalows especially if you are looking for good quality accommodation...

I stayed for one week and loved it there. I wanted to extend for another week, but it was already booked. I was on a bike — the location is very good, quiet, and close to everything. A really nice bonus is having a kitchen where you can cook your own food and make coffee.

The only thing I’d ask to adjust, if possible: there’s a security person and some other people in front of the gate who smoke very often, almost non-stop, and they are close to the bungalows. It would be very much appreciated if they could smoke outside the territory.
