The Warung — Restaurant in West Nusa Tenggara

Don’t go here!

After my shockingly bad experience at Warung ‘The Waring,’ I seriously question the authenticity of all the glowing reviews here. The reality is completely different from what is described.

The restaurant is downright filthy and poorly maintained. I was given a completely broken chair – which I ended up placing with the other damaged chairs myself (see photo).

The two women working there looked exhausted and uninterested, making every effort to avoid eye contact with customers. The woman’s attitude and way of working radiated complete indifference; it was evident that she had absolutely no interest in what she was doing.

We ordered spring rolls and mixed satay. The spring rolls were more like little pouches filled with frying oil, and the chicken satay was still half raw. How is it possible that such a terrible restaurant is still in business?

Nothing about this place was right—except the location. Maybe that’s why the only customers were tourists, with not a single local in sight. Perhaps they know better.

Looking for a good warung? Go where the locals eat and avoid this place. There are plenty of other warungs in Kuta that are...

I can honestly say, and Iam a really picked eater especially when the atmosphere is not pretty, that this restaurant has the most exceptional food for the best price I have ever had in my entire life. If my dad wouldn’t of showed this to us I would have never went, this is a open restaurant with no AC or fans and if you are like me no you don’t want to take a peak into the kitchen. But once you taste the food here everything you see will be absolutely forgotten. I can recommend everyone that wants to eat Indonesian, Italian, Americsn or even Mexican to come here. They make everything taste good and the prices are insane, and I really mean insane. For 3 people eating as much as we can (2 men that eat a lot) plus drinks we paid around 10-12€ all together! I have never heard of that anywhere else before. Please come here when you are in Kuta Lombok!!!! I’ve been here for the 3 weeks every single day sometimes...

Don't have too high expectations!

I ordered Pad Thai and what I got had absolutely nothing to do with it in terms of flavour or ingredients. I ordered a bottle of water to go with it, but unfortunately you don't get a glass with it. During the meal, a cat jumped onto the table which had been meowing at us for about 5 minutes, it just went to my friend's food. He had to flee and sit down somewhere else. The waiters saw it but ignored it and showed no interest in doing anything about it. The toilet is also unacceptable, I know it's not European standards here but even by Indonesian standards it was simply filthy and stank. Many things offered on the menu are not available, which is a shame if you come especially for that.

Furthermore, there is no change, so it is better to bring your own money to the cent.

To summarise, I cannot recommend this restaurant and wonder where the good...
