After a messed up booking at another place I found Island Cove Resort and ask reception to show me the rooms available and after deciding on a nice room upstairs with a traditional bungalow ceiling and private balcony with ocean views then went and paid 700k p/night for 2 nights. The lady then informed me the electricity was off in that room and asked me if I minded staying in the room below on the ground floor as compensation she offered me free dinner. As it was getting late and I had already paid I reluctantly agreed. The room was clean and comfortable but lacked facilities ie. coffee and tea, water, bathroom extras, only soap. When I had a shower the water flow reduced to a dribble making it almost impossible to shower at all and the balcony view was now at a bamboo fence and wifi also wasn't working so I decided to cancel the following days booking. The receptionist said I couldn't get a refund so in the morning I was able to speak with the manager a European guy, I told him about my experience and said I wanted a refund for the unused night. He was very apologetic and agreed I was entitled to the refund but he needed to speak with the receptionist who was not there at the time, we exchanged phone numbers. I checked out and found another place, the manager later contacted me and said he checked the shower and it was working normally so only wanted to refund the cost of the second night less the cost of the dinner. In the end I agree because something was better than nothing so I was refunded 520rp from the 700rp paid for the room I never stayed in. All up an unfortunate experience for me. The management needs to improve it's dealings with these problems so to encourage customers to return and provide better room facilities that most hotels charging...

Read moreThis place is not getting enough hype! We stumbled across this accommodation as we walked around Nusa Ceningan and it turned out to be one of the best evenings of our trip - delicious, fresh food and amazing service. Staff made us great cocktails and we have an amazing view over the cove. To top it off we saw a pod of dolphins and got to watch them while drinking mojitos for the whole evening - they live in the cove so you are guaranteed to see them every day! The owner also told us you often see great whites chasing them! Such a great experience - in the morning you can also see turtles and manta rays. The pool was also the...
