Blue lagoon resto — Restaurant in Nusa Penida Subdistrict

When we arrived there was only one other couple there. We ordered and everything was fine, nothing special but what you would expect. We were even offered bug spray to keep the mosquitos at bay. The food however left much to be desired. Despite the fact that my main came out 15 minutes before my partners, it was also cold. I would understand if it were busy but by this point we were the only 2 people in the restaurant. Having had Gado Gado in other places I was very disappointed with what came on my plate. The tofu was soggy, the tempeh was dry and floury and the portion size was small enough to feed a child. My partner however had the Snapper and enjoyed it. Lots of meat on the fish, well seasoned and a good size. The staff I cannot fault as they were very pleasant. So don’t let the fact it says “pizza restaurant” fool you on google, probably there to cater to westerners with no taste. We aren’t those, we are hard to please well travelled London foodies. There was only us in the restaurant which was an absolute travesty, by far the best Indonesian food we tasted in our two week stay in Bali and the surrounding islands. The Pepas is to die for, absolutely unreal sp delicious, huge compliments to the chef! They cut the banana leaves fresh in front of us in the garden. 🍃 We were staying in ARNA and are so glad we found this humble gem 💎 Super chill, lovely staff. We loved this place so much we ate twice in our short stay! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, especially the waiter who served us; he even smiled and waved us off as he saw us leaving the island. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. The tuna with carrot puree was mine and my friend's favourite meal in Bali so far, avocado ice coffee really smooth and unusual, along with the strawberry daquiris which were yummy and packed a punch! Wish we could have stayed longer to come back for more. Just up the road from our accommodation at Secret Point huts too, couldn't have been more convenient....
