Checked in & told I'd have a 3 bed room & then would need to move the next day. Had actually booked 2 x deluxe queen rooms so ended up with 2 rooms but had to move the next day which was a hassle.Staff member wasn't particularly friendly to us (never introduced himself but think Jambo was his name) never asked if we wanted anything-he seems to do everything from check-in to restaurant so we felt more inclined to return to our previous accommodation where they were super friendly & welcoming. A lovely man named Karl though was always smiling and had a much more better temperament. Queen rooms were much nicer, basic but all you need. Air con in room, lamp next to bed, small table n chairs out front along with a place to hang wet things. Pool was small but it was enough as it was deep and never felt crowded. You could always get a lounger or the beautiful beach is right next to it with swimming good at high tide. For those surfers it's just straight out to Shipwreck Reef and there is a "water taxi" that will take you & your board out for a fee if you prefer. Were told they didn't do cocktails or serve wine, so I went next door to Linda's and got some nice frozen daiquiri. However the last day I saw Jambo making a cocktail so unsure if it was just a special for that person. The location is fantastic with the beautiful beach, many restaurants/bars within walking distance and rooms all in a nice garden setting. They tend to only give you one or 2 towels, no handtowels and no specific pool or beach towels, not a biggie but I might just bring my own beach towel next time. Internet didn't work in my room but was fine out by the pool and restaurant. They play chilled music which is great for watching the sunset and just relaxing. Everything is quiet and shut down by 9.30ish. Apart from the lack of hospitality from Jambo, I would still stay here again and enjoy the gorgeous beach, view...
Read moreAccidentally booked a room with no aircon which in reality shouldnât have a been a problem. Except it was over 40 degrees in the room in mid November and the one tiny ceiling fan was too far away from the beds to make a difference. Neither of Us could sleep. We tried to get a different room but were told none had AC. Iâm not sure why because some rooms do have it. Eventually we kept our booking here (already paid for it) but moved to a new place up the street to sleep in AC for 2 nights. Staff at Puri Nusa were generally unhelpful, mainly because they donât speak English. The owner Karl was the only one who could seemingly help with anything... checking out... booking boat tickets etc. Once we needed him for both and he said he would come back in 10 mins. We waited 90 mins and he didnât show up. This is just poor customer service on his part. He needs to educate his staff on how to handle customer queries without him, it was excruciating waiting around for him when there were about 7 other staff members sitting round on their phones with nothing else to do. Thankfully we were able to book the boat tickets for the next morning elsewhere, although he later said he came back for us when he clearly didnât - we waited 90 mins! Add to that, the room had no toiletries or bottled water as advertised. There was only one plug socket in the entire room between the two beds. Pool loungers were filthy. Canât vouch for the food as breakfast wasnât included and we preferred a private place up the beach for food called Ginger and Jamu. We honestly couldnât spend much time here... just walk up the beach to the nicer places who all let you use their pools if you buy drinks. As a budget option I guess itâs fine but I wouldnât go back just because of how we...
Read moreDON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!||One of the worst places I've ever stayed. Karl is the rudest and WORST person I have ever dealt with at any hotel in my life and should not even have a job. We asked to cancel our second night as we hadn't paid yet and the response I got was so beyond aggressive and rude is an understatement, I was disgusted. Saying things like 'he thinks I understand why we can't cancel but I act as if I dont' and that 'he didn't want to talk to me' 'he doesn't care if he gets a bad review'. You think your signing up for luxury but in reality, your not. The front doors don't close properly, the toilet seat fell off, there is a scuba diving school on the grounds and was right opposite our room so was noisy and was woken up early in the morning by it, no hot water, no soap, no bottled water, no breakfast included, no towel rack and not even a lamp, NOTHING. You literally pay good money for a bed. I feel sorry for anyone who stays there and has to deal with Karl. The add insult to injury, we were so pissed by the way we were treated, we even paid to stay somewhere else instead of there even though we weren't aloud to cancel our booking. And when my partner returned the key the next day, Karl still decided to keep up his bad attitude and have a go at him saying things like, 'you people you think you know better than me because you speak English' and ranted and raved and again was rude and arrogant. Disgusting service, awful man and should not be employed let alone work in that industry. Disgusting. There are amazing places to stay right next door with lovely managers and everything this place doesn't have. DO...
