Hotel Melamun — Hotel in Pulau Bali

Before I start, I must say if this hotel is not a 5 stars hotel. Not a 5 stars Resorts. And NOT in Kuta nor Seminyak. Take that as a baseline of review vs expectation as I see there's a lot of people reviewing a not even 4 stars hotel with a 5 stars standard and expectation. ||This is my second stay here. ||1. Room is comfy and has all that you need to stay. Mini Fridge, Safety Box, LCD TV with International Channels and Decent WiFi. It also has international power plug as standard. You won't need a plug adaptor.||2. Bathroom is spacious. Equipped with Bath Tub and separate shower. Toilet also using a Toto Standard with an Eco Flush which I think a bit too fancy for this hotel standard. What I love the most is decent Hot water. Cleanliness is not spotless, but acceptable.||3. Pool is Not Large, but it's enough for quick dip and relax. It also has shallow part with border. My son loves it.||4. Food is not 5 Stars, but DECENT. I love their Fried Noodle. ||5. Staffs are observant, helpful, polite and friendly. They looked at my son and wife wants to dip into the pool and automatically delivers us pool towels. We don't even need to ask. ||In Overall, this is a value of money and very decent, comfortable and relaxing hotel, located in a prime location of Singaraja. Only 10 minutes walk for morning boat ride to see the dolphin and Hotel staff can assist you to book as well. ||I have stayed in a City Hotel which is in down town Singaraja cost 35% cheaper, but No Bath Tub, small capsule bathroom, squeaking toilet, awful and unstable WiFi, awful TV channel and quality, 50% smaller room and since it's a city hotel, it holds more than 50 rooms which cause the pool will be crammed with guests. So take that as a comparison of your expectation.||Again, this is a review against it's own standard. Not a review of 5 stars expectation vs a 3...

Whaw... where to start. This place looks amazing online and when you first walk through the gate you think "Yesss, paradise!" Beautiful quiet place and the staff gives you a warm welcome and a welcome drink. The outside pool and patio is like paradise! But the outside is the only piece of paradise left in this place. The rooms are spacious but quite dark and not cleaned well. Dirty stains on the towels, extremely dirty under the bed (almost didn't find my phone back), found a half eaten prawn cracker in a drawer and even found an old toothbrush behind the bathroom sink. The restaurant is bad. The food takes unimaginably long and tastes bland. I did not try the western food (I'm in Indonesia, so why should I) but the Indonesion food was the worst I've had during my 2 week stay in Bali. Also breakfast is a joke; don't try the orange juice unless you want instant diabetes and the pancakes were disgusting an uncooked. The eggs are ok but the toast is cardboard and if you want extra... you have to pay. Also, if you want another type of tea: you pay. Coffee is ok ad the fried rice breakfast was the best option so was the guava juice. The fruit is nice. Staff is always friendly but because there is a lack of work they are a bit slacking and lazy sometimes. I also was told the chocolate spa (which was and sill is advertised everywhere) has been closed for a long time now. This place has completely lost it's glory. We're arrived earlier from the schedule, but they made their best effort to get us to rest in our room as soon as possible. People's reviews about this hotel are very accurate. Best Value! Affordable price! The hotel is very close to the Lovina main street, Wide road access for cars to pass. There is parking area. Beach is just walking distance from Hotel Melamun. The atmosphere of this hotel is very comfortable and homey. The hotel room is clean, the mattress pillow doesn't smell damp, doesn't smell musty. All of the bedsheet and pillow smells fragrant and clean. Although the building is a lil bit old, but it's so nice, clean and well-maintained! The bedroom has AC, wifi, cable TV, bathroom with a bathtub, a shower box, toilet, which is spacious and clean. There is a swimming pool near the room. This is my first experience staying in Lovina and Hotel Melamun. I am so happy , and I will delightfully and definitely recommend everyone who will stay in Lovina to choose...
