Staying in a villa in the mountains certainly has its charm, yet it can be a bit tricky when you want to dine out! So booking a table at The 10th Table was a good option for us, door-to-door service was the perfect way to start the evening. Leon (The driver) collected us on time and within 10 minutes we arrived. Before I talk about the food, a big shout out to Leon, we felt chauffeur driven rather than 'taxi'd' he was very professional, polite and experienced driver. Upon arriving at the restaurant we were greeted by the Owner, Geert who guided us to the cocktail bar! We were spoilt for choice, there were so many different types of spirits and wines to choose from. We started with gin-based cocktails which was crafted to perfection by the bar staff. Moving to our table after 1 or 2 cocktails we were in the mood to appreciate and sample small portions of all of a chef's signature dishes in one, hence we decided to try the Dégustation menu. What a treat, the appetizing dish was prepared with great care and attention to detail. The presentation and the taste were both perfect! The Carpaccio of Butterfish and Orange Lime Honey Dressing was a divine combination of different flavours that came together to create this innovative dish. The French Onion Soup served over a Puff Pastry Cup filled with Caramelized Onions, was, a well-prepared delectable dish with great presentation and interesting flavors- size portion was spot on! The White Wine based Seafood Chowder filled with Clams and topped with Fried Leeks Was a heavenly dish, the texture and taste of the seafood combined with the sauce was super tasty. Followed by, Button Mushroom and Porcini Ravioli in a Truffled Cream, this was also yummy and full of flavour.
When the Ravioli came I was a little worried it was going to be too soft, but I was pleasantly surprised, it was cooked exactly how I like it! and to-boot, a perfect size portion to keep space for what's yet to come.
Poached Cod with a Mustard infuses Hollandaise and Spinach Potatoes was my personal favourite! Fish was cooked well, very tender and soft.
The gran finale.. (just had the right amount space left in my stomach!...) Was the Vanilla Souffle with Vanilla Sauce and Home Made Ice Cream. Words can not explain, this was indeed the best dessert I've had since living in the UK. I'm a massive fan of vanilla and souffles and this dessert ticked all my boxes!

Read moreThis is a high end restaurant with excellent service and food. We tried the 6 course dinner with wine pairing. It started with a meatball (1pc) appertiser and a sweet chocolate and fresh cheese ball. Both were very good and the meatball reminded me of a swedish meatball in tomato sauce.
You get a selection of bread to choose from and the butter is home made.
The starter was foie de canard with confit (red onion) and crackers. It was really smooth and the confit worked perfectly with the foie de canard. It was served with a Cockburn port fine ruby, which I fell in love with.
The second course was french onion soup served in large glass cup. First they placed a puff pastry cake on the bottom of the cup. The cake was filled with caramelised onions. Then they poured an incredibly rich onion broth over the onion cake. It was so savory!
The third course was a mushroom filled ravioli. I am convinced they had truffles in it. The sauce was to die for! This was my favourite of all courses.
The fourth "course" was a lime and lemon granita with mixed raisin served in a little jar. It was very good and we liked it alot.
The fifth course (the main course) was roasted duck breast with grilled vegetables and a smooth mashed potato and a berry sauce. This was probably the least impressive course of them all, but it was still to a high standard.
By the sixth course our stomachs were pretty full but the chocolate fondant was perfectly made with a rich and runny center. We got vanilla ice cream served on cookie crumble with the fondant.
After 3 hours we couldn't breathe because we were so full.
All in all we paid about 2 500 000 rupiah for 2 persons. In Sweden we would have paid up to 3 times that, so we got good value for our money.
The service was excellent and they made us feel very welcome. We even got to speak with the Belgian owner.
They also helped us get in contact with our driver.
We recommend this highly and we will be back for more before we...
Read moreThe worst "upscale" restaurant in Bali Ambiance was ok. When you drive up to this place you know you are in for an experience. The Outside has a modern clean look to it. The inside is interesting. You defiantly feel like you are inside, meaning it is not open air. The hidden garden bar in the back is nicely set outside allowing for smoking to be kept away from people eating. Tho while I was eating I wished I was outside. I did not feel like i was in bali. The modern feel continues thru out the place with lines, space, and gallery art on the ways. Nothing extra special but it had an elegant feel.
Food - this is where is went all wrong! The menu reads something to the fact of local sourced fare, but after looking at the menu and talking to the owner i knew that was a lie. Salmon, FOIE GRAS, oysters: do not come from bali! We came for my friends birthday. He is a large man who is vegan. Talking to the owner he recommended that my friend got what seemed to be the only vegan friendly thing on the menu. He said it was a very filling dish. I decided to get the same as it sounded good. Bad choice. Firstly, it took almost 2hrs to get our food. We were 3 adults and one child. only one other table in the whole place. We ordered at 7:30. We got our main course at 9:15. We finished at 9:27. When the food came out there was instant disappointment. The meal my friend and i got was tinny! Took me about 3 bites. My friend said his tasted ok but mine was gross. I think they dropped the salt shaker on it. i drank so much water to get it down. The child in our group was happy to have lintel soup. she said it was great. The issue there was again the size. She needed 2 orders of it to fill her. She's 8. Luckily we had been drinking wine and just laughed at how bad the meal was.
Service was incredibly slow but they were nice.
Overall i would say this place is not worth even looking at to eat. Way over priced for low quality food. The wine...
