The staff were truly the highlight of our stay, which came with challenging circumstances. Desak, Made, Ari, Koma and one gentleman’s name we didn’t manage to catch, warmly hosted my friend and I, doing their best to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible under difficult situations.
Come prepared that the walls of the property are extremely thin, so you’ll be able to hear your neighbours’ conversations and vice versa without much effort. This might invite some discomfort or tension between neighbours during the night especially, if you are a light sleeper. We were also only informed after check-in that there’s ongoing construction for the immediate future right next to the property compound, so most of the daylight hours are filled with construction sounds next door + gardeners mowing the grounds outside our door in the morning. Advance notice of the construction would have been a thoughtful touch.
The major damper of this stay occurred on the second night of our trip when a group of guests who occupied a larger private villa with its own pool in the compound, had a nighttime poolside party that lasted all the way till 5/6AM in the morning. This larger villa is hidden from direct sight but sits just behind the main cluster of smaller villas around the main shared pool, so the noise travelled very easily and everyone’s thin walls didn’t help the situation. We were woken up with a shock at 4.40AM in the morning from knocks on our walls and drunken shouting + loud splashing that continued for hours. We then found out from our immediate neighbours the next morning that they too were kept up all night because of the extremely loud, drunken partying. It turns out that the staff on duty did their best to manage the rowdy guests, but to no avail. Truly a shame that this inconsiderate group of guests affected the experience for everyone else staying in the compound, and implicated the staff unfairly.
Would recommend for the lovely staff, service, decor, breakfast and views, but unfortunately the noise, rowdy guests and poor sound-proofing put a real damper on an otherwise...
Read moreI spent a month in premadhan cottages. Overall it was great. The thing that comes to me foremost is the wood carvings throughout. Each carvings on doors and panels were very original and beautiful. But what is most surprising is how well all the carvings somehow flowed with a sense of continuity that you are not aware of until you go to another place which seems to be just as beautiful on the initial visit. I visited several nice cottages places as I appreciate Indonesian Juglo structures. What I notice was catching myself saying that is nice but these things don’t quite work together or that there is too much effort to make a design statement but it just doesn’t quite work like in Premadhan cottages.
Every detail, every articles, and the building structure and layout are very rich in detail But it all compliments each other and artfully express the story of Bali as told by the young Balinese owner Gargus who took 2 years to build this wonderful place. By getting to know Gargus, i understand His love for his culture was at the center of the design and construction and the reason when you walk around in his place that you feel the essence of Bali and not somebody’s expression of what people expect to see here,
This place is special and not in there obvious way. Yes it’s beautiful but the beauty is more than what you see in the picture as this place is an authentic slice of Bali as told by an authentic Balinese man with a sense of design and space.
Finally thought... even his koi pond is the best I’ve seen anywhere in the world. His koi are happiest and his pond water quality is amazing. If he loves his fish pond this much can you imagine how much he cares about the people who come and stay at his place.
Come and see for your self. You will also praise this...

We had the pleasure of staying at Premadhan Cottage for a full month – and it was nothing short of incredible. The accommodation is exactly how you imagine Bali: beautifully cozy, with so much love and attention to detail in every corner.
What truly stood out to us was the amazing team. From the very first day, they made us feel completely at home. Everyone is so warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind – you can feel the heart behind everything they do.
The cottage itself is a peaceful little oasis tucked away in the middle of vibrant Canggu. Despite the central location, it’s quiet and serene – the perfect place to relax, recharge, or even get some work done.
One of the most special aspects of our stay was how much the team invites you to connect with Balinese culture. They take the time to explain their traditions and even offer guests the chance to take part in cultural rituals and events. We had the opportunity to create our own Canang Sari offerings – a beautiful and memorable experience that allowed us to gain a deeper understanding of daily life in Bali.
The atmosphere is absolutely magical. There’s always a gentle scent of incense in the air, and in the evening the property lights up beautifully. A member of the team even comes by to light mosquito coils in the semi-outdoor bathroom – a lovely touch that adds to the authentic Bali experience.
What we appreciated most was the outstanding service, which truly goes above and beyond. Whether it’s the thoughtful details, the cultural warmth, or the genuine care – everything is done with so much love and intention.
We would return in a heartbeat and can wholeheartedly recommend Premadhan Cottage to anyone looking for a soulful, unforgettable...
