Regarding the reservation, I booked Tanadewa Suite (for my family of four) through Agoda.com and checked in on February 6th and checked out on February 8th, spending wonderful two nights.
In the lobby, I was able to feel a cool breeze coming from the valley, which made me a great first impression of Tanadewa. The female personnel who helped me with the check-in process was very friendly and despite being herself a trainee, she very concisely and skillfully explained all the information needed and did not lose her beautiful smile.
The Tanadewa suite room was first opened to us, cooly air-conditioned and the bed was kept dry, not humid. The amenities and room facilities were perfectly managed without any breakage or deficiencies, and the floor of the room was kept clean enough to walk barefoot. The cold and hot water came out well in the bathroom without any problems, and the drainage was also managed without any problems at all. Clean towels were provided and extra towels for our request were also brought quickly.
The room was the only room on the sixth floor, so we were able to stay very quiet and have a very pleasant time. The jungle view from the room terrace was more perfect than we ever dreamed. The terrace drainage worked well even during the rainy season, so there was no problem to use it.
Since this hotel is a small hotel with only 39 rooms, it didn't offer a variety of breakfast menus like the large hotel. Nevertheless, they made the main menu such as egg dishes delicious. However, I had to wait for about 30 minutes to have the main menu I ordered on the first day. On the next morning, everything was served quickly. I don't know the reason for that. Also, it was regrettable that breakfast beverage services were provided free of charge only once. You have to pay extra charge for your second cup of coffee in breakfast.
In Tanarasa, the hotel's only main restaurant, providing room service, I could taste various international cuisine and Indonesian local foods, and the food quality was excellent. Also, since we provided vegan menu, I think we will be able to satisfy the needs of various customers. Nevertheless, the small number of foods still remains the only disadvantage of the Tanadewea hotel.
You can enjoy a great jungle view from the pool in front of your eyes, and it can be used as a great photo spot. The pool bar quickly served various beverages and foods. Though small, nice gym and massage spa is there for you.
The Tanadewa Hotel boasts a generally very calm and relaxing atmosphere, and is a very suitable hotel for relaxing. In particular, the fact that I could appreciate the blue-green jungle in almost any room of the hotel fully justified my visit to Ubud. All the staff I met at this hotel were able to communicate proficiently in English and were quick to deal with problems, which was very satisfying.
It definitely is a hotel that I'd like to visit again.
In particular, Ms. Risna at the reception desk touched me greatly by gently explaining the routes and methods for our next hotel. Secondly, Mr. Windu, the receptionist, with all his heart, completed the check-out skillfully and without any mistakes, handed me a lovely check-out snack, and guided me through the gift shop. He made my tranquil stay at the hotel until the very end. He is expected to become a great hotelier later on. Lastly, I want to thank Ms. Rosita who amazingly handled our various requests.
Though I later could find some real information about this hotel on the Cross Collection (owner company), the photos and details uploaded on Agoda.com were seriously defected to explain the true quality of this hotel. They do need to be updated to help people to choose this wonderful hotel. If you expect small luxury services and impressions rather than an ordinary large-scale hotel, this hotel will be the best option for you. I hope all the hotel personnel I met always stay healthy, hope to see you again and good bye. (feel free to follow me on...
Read moreThe moment we arrived to check in at the resort there was no welcome. There were just two ladies at the counter. It was a basic check in where we were given our room details and access cards and a female staff member took us to our villa. We walked through the villa ourselves and the female staff member left. It was at this point we wanted to just cool down in the pool after our journey and we noticed the poor state of the pool towels and then the guest towels. We were told that this was the best Villa in the whole resort as it was a holiday planned especially for my wife's 50th birthday. If this was the best villa we were wondering what the other guests accommodation was like. In Villa 7: There were holes and stains on bathing towels as shown Stains and faded areas on pool towels as shown There was no bin liners in any of the garbage bins. No sanitary bags for guests in villa toilet upon arrival. Mould on shower walls and on silicon areas around the floor Fan was covered in dust/mould Marble vanity top in bathroom was cracked and stained also Floor boards closest to bathroom and at base of bedhead were water damaged and loose under foot – potentially from the air conditioner leaking? Air conditioner unit spraying water out onto the floor below through the night. The cause of this was due to filters being dirty and clogged. The bar fridge in the villa was on but drinks inside weren’t cold. The bottom of the pool had small rocks and debris that was only evident when you stood on them. General poor maintenance of the villas exterior was noted as well. Light fittings with broken tiles, peeling paint, holes in decking boards near the pool to name a few more things. Service: Staff in the Tanasara restaurant did not acknowledge us or smile when we arrived or when we ordered our lunch and the evening dinner experience was the same. At dinner there were 6 staff standing around talking at the register located inside the restaurant and as we were the only guests dining in there at the time we were being watched while we ate. When we completed each plate of food we had to call for assistance to have items removed from the table. We asked the staff numerous times for more drinks to be replenished and this interrupting their group chat. Empty drink cans were not taken from the table when new drinks were provided and we had to ask for cups of ice as this was not offered. One waitress seemed to be working while the other staff members stood around or had conversations with the bar staff across the hall from the restaurant doors. In our meal of Nasi Goreng Kampung there was a black hair on the prawn crackers that garnished the plate. The restaurant lacked atmosphere as a whole and it was uncomfortably hot and stuffy as the air con did not seem to be working correctly. On one occasion we actually asked the staff to turn down the temperature as it was so uncomfortable in the middle of the day. The food we ordered was nice and tasty and well presented but did not make up for the overall dining experience. The table centre pieces did not help the feel of the restaurant either. A highball glass with rocks, murky water and a stick is not acceptable by any standard. There were no coasters for drinks to sit on and the 2 seater tables just weren’t generous enough to accommodate all the condiments that accompanied the meals. Not every staff member more a badge and there seemed to be no set or consistent uniform for the staff even though they were neatly presented. As there is a character limit on this review we can say that we will NEVER stay at Tanadewa Resort Ubud again and we will NEVER recommend this resort to travellers wishing to...
