Summary of our stay, we had the BEST time here celebrating our honeymoon and my birthday. We would absolutely recommend to any of our friends. We cannot say enough good things about the staff 10/10 so friendly, helpful and just a pleasure to be around. Our accommodations, the activities, and spa were exactly what we hoped for and more. For more details about our stay…

Pre Arrival I couldn’t be happier with level of communication I received before arriving and the instructions available. We set up our airport transportation and also we wanted to hire a driver to go to some places we desired and this was incredibly easy and affordable through the resort.

Arrival Our pick up from the airport was very easy and we were picked up in a nice newer air-conditioned van. Our driver Andy was very friendly. He was also our driver another day during one of the half day tours we booked as well. He was a very good driver.
Upon arrival at the resort we received a refresher and towels which is such a nice touch. They walked us through our stay, the itinerary items we already had booked and provided information on additional activities. When we got to our room, our luggage was already there and they explained all the things we should know for our room and property it was very helpful.

During our Stay Our room was a dream! We booked the jungle view pool villa and it was peaceful, quiet and so comfortable. It was very nice having the pool off our room, just big enough for two people to dip and relax. We did visit the main pool as well and that was also great. I was very happy with the food and drinks during our stay! I am dairy (lactose) free and it was incredible easy to order/accommodate. We ordered room service a few times and the food came hot and drinks cold. We loved trying the Balinese food, it was DELICIOUS. The drinks were excellent too, they have a really good selection of premium spirits and I was not sure how the wine selection would be but I was pleasantly surprised it was great. The coffee is sooo good as well. They have some themed nights at the restaurant which were a pleasant surprise and even have traditional dancers come! That was really cool and convenient that it was at our resort. We visited the spa several times during our stay and it was absolutely worth it. The therapists were fantastic! We tried the Serayu signature blessing massage, Bamboo valley massage, Candle temptation massage and Age-Defying collagen facial. Our favorites were the bamboo valley massage and candle temptation massage because they were different and felt great.

Activities The hotel has a shuttle that goes to Ubud center and also their sister property Jungle Resort. It was really easy to use but there are only a few pick up/ drop off times so you have to work around that. We did go and visit the sister property at Kayon Jungle Resort. It was really neat to see and get to check out their pool. We also did the Romantic Dinner package there as well and it was very nice. The food was good and setting was different than something we had done before. Our server Vera was wonderful and made our night special. We also did their morning walk, a 45 min walk to see the surrounding area. It was quick but nice. We hired a driver for two days during our stay, and I couldn’t be happier. Our favorite day was going from the resort to Jatiluwih Rice fields, ALING-ALING waterfalls and Ulun Danu Beratan Temple. While this was a very long day (10hrs), the views and places were breath taking and we had the best company with our driver Koko. He was so awesome and friendly. He helped make the day for us. Also because we were leaving in the morning before breakfast, they made breakfast to-go boxes for us to be able to have while we drove. These little touches through out our stay really makes this place...

10/10! We stayed at the Kayon Valley for 10 nights to celebrate our honeymoon and 1st wedding anniversary. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed with a welcome drink and lovely staff. We had a Jungle View pool villa, which was all decorated for our honeymoon plus a yummy cake for us.||The villa was incredible and so private, absolutely fantastic waking up to the jungle every morning. We know 10 nights in Ubud is quite a lot but we'd just come from hectic Singapore and was ready for some chill time and to make the most out of the incredible villa. We only had a few days of trips/exploring, the rest of our time was spent relaxing in paradise!||We hadn't read too many comments of monkeys, but we had monkeys every day. Not causing any trouble, either just passing by or having a mad 15 minutes bouncing on the umbrella, then they'd leave, so it didn't bother us.||For our anniversary we chose to eat at the hotel with a romantic 5 course dinner with bottle of wine and candles and rose petal decorations. Food was absolutely gorgeous! We ate the the hotel 2 or 3 times in the evening as the food was 5 star. ||The breakfast was also delicious! Plenty of options to choose from on the menu such as juices, coffees, fruit platters and fresh bread/pastries then freshly cooked hot options from eggs benedict, Kayon big brekky, pancakes, french toast etc etc||We had 2 massages which were lovely and so relaxing. We had the relaxing Balinese massage after coming back from a day trip. Then a deep tissue massage the day we left before a long flight home.||There is a shuttle bus that will take you into Ubud. We got the 7pm shuttle in Ubud most nights which takes about 15/20 minutes. It'll take you so far due to the traffic (which is quite busy) then it's just a short walk to get further into Ubud centre with plenty of shops, restaurants and bars with live music (L.O.L bar was our favourite)||The staff were incredible, so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. As we spent most days sunbathing in our villa, we ordered our dinner and drinks through room service. Food always came piping hot and drinks refreshing and cold. So polite when they enter your room. Also, when you arrived back to the hotel after a day trip or night out, you'll always get a warm welcoming being "welcomed home", a lovely little touch.||Overall we couldn't recommend this beautiful place more. If you're visiting Ubud, this is the place to stay, you won't be disappointed. ||Thank you for...

My experience at this hotel was far below expectations. Despite being advertised as a 5-star hotel, it felt more like a 3-star establishment. That’s why they are making all the bookings non-refundable!

Upon arrival, I asked the staff for assistance with our package. When I requested help opening the bag, the staff member replied, "Sir, how can I open the bag?" This lack of professionalism was just the beginning of our frustrations.

The cleanliness was appalling. I felt like I was walking on a dirty floor in our room. There were geckos consistently in the "private pool area," and ants and worms were everywhere in the room. The bathroom situation was equally disappointing; there was only one sink that barely had enough space for two perfume bottles. The finishing and decoration of the rooms were humid and miserable.

After we complained and asked for a refund, they questioned us about our issues with the ants and geckos, telling us it was normal because our villa was near a big tree. Why weren't we informed beforehand that we would be sleeping under a big tree and dealing with these pests?

We were celebrating our honeymoon and were shocked that these issues were not disclosed beforehand. If we had known about the cramped accommodations and cleanliness problems, we could have chosen to upgrade.

They did offer us a better room due to our issues, but the new room had the same problems. We spent three nights in this new room due to the non-refundable policy. At night, while showering, I found the shampoo and shower gel bottles were empty, and one of the two showers wasn’t working. To add to the disappointment, the towels provided were torn and worn out. Imagine these issues in a 5-star hotel!

We also couldn’t even touch the water in the private pool because of the geckos. I understand we’re in the middle of the jungle, and while I can’t fully judge the presence of ants, geckos, and worms, I stayed at two other hotels at the same time—one of them was cheaper, and we didn’t encounter any issues.

We are not looking for luxury or anything fancy; we only need something clean and not damaged. I strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to think twice. It truly felt like a waste of time and money. If you decide to go, prepare yourself for a 3-star...

This resort was absolutely spectacular in every way! 10/10. From a hospitality standpoint, everyone was extremely nice and friendly and would go out of their way to help us out. Yogi for example was an amazing tour driver who took us around the island to sight see and would go with us, take picture, provide recommendations to improve our trip, was extremely friendly and helpful the entire time, etc. Rusdi was always so kind and attentive and provided a recommendation on a waterfall that was not originally in our itinerary and we were glad we ended up going there after and also provided a monkey stuffed animal on behalf of the hotel that would remind us of the hotel and our little monkey friends that visited our deck during our stay. Nano so thoughtful with the service and while eating at the restaurant brought us mosquito spray when he noticed we were getting bitten. Yudi was kind and attentive the entire time as well and made our stay so pleasant and gave us these Balinese bracelets as parting gifts. They even had a very nice name plaque with our name on it to pick us up, and not just a handwritten paper. They gave us a food box for us to enjoy on the trip from the airport to the hotel and also parting gifts on our way out. From a quality of the stay standpoint, this is beyond what one dreams of when thinking of staying in Bali. The room was over 2,500 square feet and the most spacious and amazing we’ve ever stayed in! The view from the room is jaw dropping and we got our own jacuzzi and Infiniti pool with a spectacular view of the jungle. We even got lucky and saw a pack of little monkey crossing our deck to get to the other side including some baby monkeys hanging from the parents belly. With a resort right in the middle of the jungle where you can hear the bugs and animals from the jungle in the middle of the night, reminiscent of the nature sounds many people download to help them sleep. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the breakfast! The most complete breakfast set, especially when ordering the Indonesian main entrees. There’s more to write about how amazing this place is, not to mention how great of an island Bali is, but I will stop here to not write too much for the reader :)

Where to begin!! So many resorts to choose from in Bali. I'm sure there are many great resorts here, BUT I don't know how it could be better than Kayon Valley! -) Quick, easy communication via email/text prior to arrival. Able to set up airport transfer, dinner reservations, spa treatments before arrival. The driver that picked us up, Koko, was great. Amazing first impression of the island and Kayon Valley. Helpful, kind, pleasant. -) The resort is a true oasis. U drive thru a real village/neighborhood, but once u turn into the resort, it's like you are transported into a magical jungle paradise. You cant even tell you're in a neighborhood. Can't hear anything but nature. -) checkin was smooth, fantastic, welcome drinks, everyone, and i mean everyone, smiles at you, genuinely, and welcomes you. It's contagious. U just find yourself smiling all the time and it feels great! -) The rooms are fantastic. Had a plunge pool, with valley/jungle views. Immaculate. TV was great, bed comfy, shower was awesome. Great soap and towels. -) special romantic dinner package at Flying Leaf was completely worth it. Did a Sound Bowl healing treatment, as well as Balinese massage and the wife did a skin treatment. Best we've ever had and for a fraction, literally, 1/5th the cost that it would be in the US. And nicer people! -) half day Ubud tour (Tegalalang Rice Terrace, Pura Tirta Empul (Holy Springs), Aloha Swing, Satria Luwak Coffee Tour) was incredible. Our driver, Yogi, was the absolute BEST. Great driver, friendly, informative, took pics for us! I have no negatives, none. If you're trying to decide on a resort, choose Kayon Valley! (Or one of the sister properties like Kayon Jungle or Kayon Resort). Fantastic!
