I have been here twice to dine. The place is very homey and well-designed. Its suitable for those who would like to work on their laptop and also suitable for family lunch/dinner. They serve pork. Please check the menu you choose and ask the waitress if you are looking for HALAL food.
So I've tried several menu: Chicken caesar salad (45k) Yummy. Love the bacon bits. The portion is so big you need to share this salad bowl.
Beef burger (58k) The meat is juicy and thicc~ I love the fries (as always) The funny thing is they put white cabbage in it (?).
Chicken Nuggets and Fries (42k) Suitable for kids. They love it. The nugget is golden brown and perfectly cooked. Yummy.
Carbonara (52k) I like the taste but since the sauce is too much, my pasta is almost drowning in the cream sauce. They put bacon bits. Thats a plus. The portion is huge. I love the carbonara pasta, except its just too much sauce.
Chiken Aglio Olio (46k) The taste is so so and not too salty but it's enough for me. The portion is big.
Napolitana ala Kakiang (52k) Pasta with tomato sauce, sausage and fried egg(at the bottom of the hot plate). Its yummy and not too salty. Portion is big too.
Mille Crepes Dessert time! Love this layered cake. Just like "First love" but thicker layer. Sweet and creamy.
My conclusion is I will definitely go back to Kakiang Garden, preferably for dessert because Kakiang is well known for their cakes and pastries. I'd love to...
Read moreKakiang in Pengosekan has been a local favorite for almost a decade. Their Garden Cafe expansion in Andong is a welcomed addition because it offers a more open setting.
The Garden Cafe is more suitable for larger groups, families, elderly, and people with disabilities. There is a very large parking lot in the back that can hold several cars (at least 8-10 comfortably). There is motorbike parking in front and back--super convenient if you are just picking up donuts on the go.
I love that there are many seating options in the back, front, and inside. There's even a two-story structure in the front providing a tree-top view of Andong.
Lastly, the quality of food and service is always high for a very reasonable price (e.g. 6,000 IDR for a donut when everywhere else is 12,000 IDR). This is what makes Kakiang's bakery consistently stand out from the rest. This is my favorite place in Ubud for a proper pancake on a Sunday morning.
The only thing I miss from the Garden is that they no longer serve their delicious and amazingly priced gelato. Their famous gelato is only available now at their...
Read moreUnsure about other peoples review. But had a mild lunch flavor today. Ordered the Madura Duck, too greasy and didn’t have any salt or pepperZ just plain greasy deep fried duck which isn’t what Madura Duck stands for. The Tiramisu crepe was meh, i’ve tried better out there; ordered corn soup with bread but the bread as bad as the soup. The soup wasn’t that creamy at all, and the bread is like a styrofoam. Ordered inhouse jamu but the taste is 60% water. I personally think the savory menu was a bit pricey, while the sweets are in a good range price. I feel like you get what you paid. Priceyy coffees. Unsure about the concept if this cafe really, it says Japanese, but the menu full on bistro and mixed of all Italian, Local, and everywhere. I don’t think I’ll ever returning here since the food...
