We were a family of 11 people coming in Ubud for 4 nights and staying at the Ubud Tropical. |Where to start...? |The outside, purveyor of dreams of course. You see the little cute tents, the beautiful swimming pool, the pleasant living room and garden so you think that it’s amazing.|However, our stay here was far from perfect. |Progressively, we discovered the flaws of this hotel. |Firstly, it was really far from the centre, 1km by foot from everything so very difficult to go to the restaurants when you are walking with all the traffic and broken sidewalks. |The tents for 4 people were okay with confortable beds but there was only 1 prise for us all and the one on the bathroom was not working so it’s was really annoying. |Concerning the bathroom, it wasn’t clean and we didn’t get any towels, we had to ask to have ones and they never changed it, as well as not putting enough toilet paper or throwing the garbage. |The Qualité du service must be improved because it was rather inexistant.|About the tent for 2 people, it was really noisy, due to a strange noise coming from the swimming pool and people talking all night very loudly. There is a total absence of rules and respect which is a problem.|Finally, concerning the dormitory of 4 people : fuyez, it’s a placard, you cannot walk in it, put your backpack on the ground and there is no window. It was not possible at all for them to stay here so they were obliged to go on a 10 people dormitory. |It should be precised on the reservation website that this dormitory is so small. |The bathroom and toilets of the dormitory were really not clean too, so dirty that we never used it, this is not normal.|Then, I have to finish with the kitchen which was the most disappointing. The reception tells you that you have access to a kitchen you can use to cook and that a breakfast is available in it but in self service. The reality is that there is a poor breakfast not sufficient at all for an entire hotel. Only 4 glasses, some plates and cutlery but definitely not enough. The fridge is disgusting, not clean at all. I don’t understand why it’s written on the website that there is a breakfast included. This is not true. |We were all very disappointed and I personally don’t recommend this hotel. |The price was too high for what they...

Read moreA nice hostel just let down by cleaning. It’s set in a great location with a very nice pool and walking distance to Ubud centre. The rooms are fine, and good value as we shared a single bunk as a couple. The room & lockers are small though considering they hold a max of 12 people. Lockers don’t fit big bags in so the room is flooded with bags. Our locker didn’t work fully either. No breakfast included which is a shame, although the kitchen is useful to make your own. Where this hotel lets itself down is the cleanliness. We watched one bunk next door be deep cleaned for bed bugs and it’s easy to see why, as the rooms aren't the cleanest. The kitchen & sitting area is filthy & unhygienic as well, and this not somewhere you’d like to actually make a meal or sit for a long period of time. There is a lack of cutlery in the kitchen and clean cutlery as well. There was 1 mug and it was filthy. There are a lot of flies & mosquitoes in the kitchen area for this reason. We were bitten lots of times just simply making some cereal. This could be helped by a deep clean, regular cleaning and placing mosquito burning coils around. There is also a long term guest who smokes in the kitchen all day, which isn’t nice to sit around. A nice hostel, let down massively by cleaning. The other weird thing was towels, we had to ask for one to start with but when we were given one it was a hand towel, which was strange. We stayed for 4 nights and I raised these issues with the hostel on day 2 but they ignored me and didn’t even bother cleaning the...
