Providence Homestay — Hotel in Surabaya

I stayed there for 2 nights. it cost me 99k and 97k per day, because i booked it twice. Providence homestay located in abandoned ruko (home office) beside ciputra world/ ciputra mall in mayjend sungkono. To go there, from bungurasih bus terminal i take bus damri to tanjung perak and stopped at joyoboyo angkot terminal, or you can stopped in front surabaya zoo. Surabaya zoo located 500 m from joyoboyo angkot terminal. From joyoboyo angkot terminal take brown angkot with letter TV. in surabaya angkot called lynn. take lynn tv from joyoboyo bus terminal. the angkot looked like very old kijang car type with brown colour with letter TV. the angkot/lynn passing by surabaya zoo. after that you have to stopped at crossing bridge near ciputra world/ciputra mall. then walk to the center of the abandoned ruko/home office. providence homestay next to san liu jiu restaurant.||||pros:||-it didn't looks good from the outside. but the room clean enough.||- the bathroom has very hot showers, the aircond works good, ||-in surabaya angkot stop operated at 7 pm. so i choose to go to ciputra mall. i just walk from providence homestay, there are plenty restaurants, cinema,bookstore. ||||cons:||- the cons i give is the wall/ partitions is from thin wood. so you can hear or be heard by others. ||- if you have room with window make sure you turn off the light because all of your activities silhouete can be seen from outside if you turn on the light. the window gordyn is thin.||||Overall it was ok to stay there. Now I am stay here. It is clean and valuable with price. But service is the worst i ever experience in my 8years travelling. When I arrive here. I try to be gentle with reception and he was good at that time. And I asked my friend will come to visit me. And he say it is ok. But when my friend come to just visit me. He changed totally. Very rood and not respect customer. He keep knocking door every 5mns. And very strongly. Almost feel like he wanna brakes door. And talk to us. We cannot stay. We already know that. We just talking. And he cannot accept it. He is like religious police. At the beginning I try to say gently and make him understand we r not stay together just visit. But after my friend gone. I said don't get angry with customer. I just come here for stay not fight with u. And he said. "Oh do u want fight?" What is that kind of hospitality???????? And he point me by finger and keep say "do u wanna fight??" Omg. That's I've never experince in my whole travelling in the world 8years. And he called boss and Said something to boss. So I want talk with boss about this problem. But he just hang out phone! Than he just say sorry. But not from mind. I've met so many people and at least can figure out who is acting or from mind. As an ignorant English traveller who didn't learn the local lingo, it was difficult to a) get the taxi driver to find the place (our taxi man was a bit of a donkey) and b) ask advice on how to get to bagnyuwangi the next morning (by the way, just go to the train station and get the 9am train). The room was fine, couple of stains on the sheets but nothing too ghastly. The place is right next to a ma with restaurants. Bathrooms kept to a useable standard. As a pitstop for a couple in surubaya, this place was cheap and good enough to get a few hours kip (very quiet). If I was coming back to have a couple of days in surubaya, I might be inclined to look elsewhere. However, if I picked up the language and was on a tight budget, this would be perfect. Just learn...
