Every food I ordered is delicious!
The soup is spicy and includes two vegetables (onions and mushrooms), as well as what I believe are fish lips. I recommend enjoying the soup with white rice while slurping it, as it can be quite papi u for my taste. 😅
The Mie Ulang Tahun is incredibly flavorful! It has rich umami taste, thanks to the variety of ingredients like chicken, mushrooms, prawns, and fried quail eggs that melt in your mouth.
The Fu Yung Hai is fluffy, crispy around the edges, savory, and it has vegetables like onions and grated carrots. The sweet and sour sauce blends perfectly, making it delightful dish!
The fried Su Un is good, but it’s a bit salty for my preference due to the dried shrimps.
Finally, the Sapo Tahu is a must-try for me! It has various vegetables such as snap peas, carrots, onions, mushrooms, baby corn, and pak coy. It also topped with fried quail eggs (not shown in the photo because my mother doesn’t eat them and gave it to me 😅).

Some of the dishes are just okay, like the gurame tauco... their canton fried chicken is OK, pork skewers seemed popular since we saw several tables ordered that (you have to order 10pcs). Their es campur is TERRIBLE.The jackfruits aint sweet, kolang kaling was greenish and sour, mutiara had a strong chemical smell, wouldn't grab it even if it was free. Fried rice was okay. Although every items here are mostly served in large portions, some of the dish has a subpar quality, therefore the price is still considered expensive... I'm...
Read moreOne of legendary old Chinese food restaurants in Surabaya. And even after years since my childhood, until nowadays as an employee, the taste is still same as good as ever. Most favorite are Capcay babi, kolobak & siobak / roast pork. Capcay is generous, fragrant & tasty. Kolobak is crispy with perfect amount of batter, not too thick. And the roast pork is still much much better than those new siobak stalls or home style siobaks made from frying. Their unique fried chicken is also very good, with salty but savory unique flavor of it. Ramayana has always been One of my go-to when I need comfort food, & their food always...
