Jamoo Restaurant — Restaurant in Surabaya

Jamoo at Shangri La Hotel, all u can eat. Difference price fot breakfast, brunch , dinner. Great service and nice staff. So many menus u can try. The scallops and salads choices are nice, with a good dressing to accompany. There are two soup selection, difference choice every season. mine is a chicken herbal soup and mushroom cream soup. they also have japanese selection, sashimi tuna and salmon, sushi, and udon. Keeping in mind that the Japanese station in Jamoo is just a complimentary of the whole buffet, so the taste just normal, not good as japanese restaurant like sushi tei. Thei have choices of noodles too, Their choices of desserts are quite good. Though not on par with my favorite cakery, this one also did not dissapoint. There are many interesting and colorful selections. they have cake, fondie, local cake, and ice cream. They have 6 flavors of ice cream : chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, bubblegum, cookies and cream, dragon fruit. Edit: June 2025 They no longer serve salmon sashimi as of April 2025, which's a shame because it's been part of the menu ever since Jamoo Surabaya first opened back in the late 90s. The buffet selection is not as attractive as before. Athough still fresh, I found some unclean shrimps with its poop tract still intact. It's still a good buffet, but not as good as before.

Service and restaurant atmosphere's as good as a 5-star hotel would.

Pre 2025 review: A strong contender for the best buffet restaurant in town. They rotate their menu every so often so do make a short call to make sure you get the menu that you want. Every Sunday they usually serve Indonesian foods, but they still have many other choices like salad (they have wide variety of salad! Even they have scallops and it's so fresh) , cheese and cracker, complete dessert (cakes, ice cream, chocolate fondue, etc), Japanese food, western food. So far, this is the best all-you-can-eat hotel's restaurant in Surabaya. I mean, you know, I'm not really into hotel's food cause sometimes the foods tend to be tasteless. But, Jamoo is superb! And their service is great!

The only thing they need to improve is the interior hahaha! I prefer restaurant with brighter lighting~
