Read moreI was very excited to stay here with my friend, especially after I read that the concept of this hotel is vintage. But I didn't expect that it will be 'this' vintage 🥲 The bedroom is okay (do not expect any refrigerator), eventhough we saw holes on the sheets and blanket, but the size of the room was spacious. However, we almost too scared to use the bathroom. The color of the towels were suspicious (is it originally in that color? or is it because the towel is too old) since we saw that the towels were ripped apart, as you see in the pictures. Figured out that this is not only for our room, I saw the room cleaning lady and she carried the same type of towels for all the rooms. You can see that the painting of the ceilings already worn off, and basically the bathroom is old and dirty. And the scarriest of all was you can see small creatures creeping on the walls 😭😭😭 I have experiences of staying in hotels cheaper than this, but this is the worst so far. Definitely not a hotel standard bathroom. After staying in the room for one night, we were excited for the breakfast since there were good reviews about it. But once again, pretty disappointed. The quality of the food was okay, I guess. Sorry for writing such bad reviews but I expected better for a hotel in the middle of...
Read moreVarna Culture Hotel is located at strategic location closer to Tunjungan Plaza and many local eateries around. But I was given a room at smoking floor although when I booked I already requested for nonsmoking room. We have to inhale lots of 2nd hand smoke which was quite bad for our throat and causing us hard to breathe. The bathroom had given us lots of problems, after we took a shower, we realised the water cannot flow into the drainage hole and stayed floating next to the toilet bowl. The whole floor flooded as the floor design was a problem. When we complained to front desk staff, they already knew the problem but they cannot do anything. They only offered the housekeeper to mop away the water. Which the floor still wet. The water pressure is too low while we on the shower. The shower head positioned wrongly on wall and not flexible which caused the shower water to shoot directly to the opposite wall instead of to our body or face. It wet the whole towel rack and the toilet bowl behind us. Hence, we have to hold the shower head most of the time to ensure we can clean our body thoroughly. Breakfast served was average. The juices were quite plain and no fruit flavour. The overall food served was OK. No minibar in the hotel. We have to buy ice cube 5,000rp for a cup of...
