From the Moment we were greeted at the Front Door By the owner Brita... this Bed and Breakfast became more like we were visiting a good friend or family member. The hospitality offered was - on a scale from 1 to 10... 100% an 11!!! We are world travelers and we have stayed in many Bed and Breakfast's, and they have been very nice, and the proprietors have been most gracious, but this one was what was needed after a rainy day in Killarney, after driving for hours touring ourselves around the country side, driving on the WRONG side of the road, and from the WRONG side of the car... and doing a great job at it... but nonetheless, needing a bit of rest and relaxation and a friendly bed and breakfast owner to come to, and boy did we hit the jackpot... and being the shy one that I was, when I asked Brita if she could suggest a place that we could dry our coats that we were wearing, she took them from us and 20 minutes later, we had our coats warm and dry! WOW!!! And the Breakfast that Brita provides to her guest is 5 star restaurant quality, several choices that are hot and delicious, and fresh fruit, fresh pastries, cereals, juices, milk, and coffee.... so in closing... and trust me travelers... I shoot from the hip and have written some very strong comments to less deserving people... the next time you are looking for a place to spend the night or two in Killarney, Ireland... The Killaran House is the place you want to be, and tell Brita , that Steve & Shelly recommended her place. I promise you she will make you...

Wonderful Stay with a Truly Caring Host and Perfect Location||We had a lovely stay at Killaran House in Killarney. Breeda, the owner, is incredibly friendly and warm — she makes you feel like a welcomed guest in her home from the moment you arrive.||The breakfast was excellent, with plenty of delicious options, and Breeda goes above and beyond with thoughtful touches — there’s even a guest cart filled with travel essentials like shampoo, hairspray, and other items visitors might have forgotten. Such a brilliant idea!||The location is perfect — an easy walk to great restaurants, shopping, and just minutes from the Ring of Kerry entrance. Everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained, showing the care and pride Breeda puts into her guesthouse.||If we had one small note, it would be that the beds were a bit firm for our liking — but truly, if that’s the only thing to mention, it says a lot about how wonderful this place is.||A solid 4+ star stay — warm hospitality, spotless rooms, great food, and an unbeatable location....

Absolutely lovely place with so many little extras they really go above and beyond. You will be hard pressed to find somewhere else that offers as much. Great central location. Room was very nice and very well decorated. Only little let down was the mattress on one bed wasnt the most comfortable and could do with been replaced with a slightly higher quality/ upmarket one with this done they'd be flawless and get top marks. The other 2 beds in the room seemed better to be fair. I've no doubt with the attention to detail the the owner or manager is giving this place that they will look into this. Dont let that put anyone off this really is a great spot to stay staff where very friendly and helpfull and good communication. The breakfast was gorgeous and plenty of choice on offer. I'd definitely stay again and have no problem recommending this place as it's one of the better places I've stayed in...

This B&B is exceptionally clean and comfortable and well located within walking distance of the town. It's on a noisy busy road though so with the windows open, this did interrupt sleep. We also had a lovely view from our room to wake up to the next morning. The decor is dated and dark, shower curtains aren't very hygienic usually but the one in our bathroom looked new. Unfortunately there was a water problem while we were there so no showers available. Also, the door handle of our room came off in my hand at one point. I was able to screw it back in though but doesn't look like this was the first time this happened. Lots of accessories available should we need them (e.g. additional toiletries, hair straighteners, fans etc) and tea and coffee stations available on both floors with little muffins was a nice touch. Breakfast was also really nice and the hospitality offered was very personal.

One of the highlights of our dream vacation to Ireland was our stay at Killaran House! Two nights at this welcoming Bed and Breakfast in Killarney was a warm sanctuary during our trip. As comfortable as the room was (including the home made breakfast), they paled in comparison to the friendly and inviting personality of our hostess Breda! She and her staff went out of their way to make us feel like family. Breda provided inside knowledge of the area that enhanced our drive around the Ring of Kerry and the Celtic Steps show in the evening. We have made a new friend by meeting Breda. When we return to Ireland, we will make sure to stay here again. The spirit of Ireland is alive and well at Killaran House!

Just be aware that when you book in here, they will save your card details. And your card details will stay with them even after you leave and they can deduct money from your card when they wish. We stayed there, had a little accident that left 3 little scratches (size of a finger) on the carpet. 350 euros were deducted from my account without my consent or any receipt or any proof of expense. That was scary! When I reached back to the b&b to inquire, the response that I got back was like: "get out, never come here again".
