Nice small development of Trulli in a quiet part of town outside the historical centre (thankfully.) Got free parking easily just a few mins walk away as per the instructions given.|Pleasant inside…small sitting room and ‘kitchen ‘ area though it would have been useful to have actual cooking facilities or even some basic cutlery! Not even a bottle opener! A bit annoying not to have all these things. Although there was a kettle, there weren’t even any spoons for stirring.Everything was in these little paper throwaway pouches, so little sticks only for stirring.|It was cold inside too given the cave nature of the house and it would have been nice if the heating had been put in for us arriving(which we told them in advance was 4.30pm, plenty notice.) I got the impression everything was designed to be as little work for staff, rather than comfortable for guests.||The roof terrace was pleasant but not really somewhere that offered attractive views.||We visited the historic centre later that afternoon and it has been destroyed by tourism.Every house is full of tourist tat, reducing the overall experience.Lovely views over the roof tops however from the newer part of town. There is a more authentic area of Trulli which are still lived in so that’s worth strolling around.||A small Todi supermarket is located about a 10 min walk from the accommodation.||Far too many emails from staff pre visit; it got annoying.Pre filling out passport info etc, pushing us about arrival time on at least two occasions; advising several times of extra cost if you arrive after 7pm.Annoying when you are exploring elsewhere and staff clearly want to head off asap and take as little to do with you time wise on arrival. That was my...
Read moreWe just checked out of our magical night in the historically staged trulli. The company manages several properties of varying style and size. Our trulli was located up the hill, behind the cathedral and right in front of the trulli museum.
It was perfectly staged to look and feel like a medieval home, successfully disguising all modern accommodations such as lights, electrical switches and outlets, AC, heaters, and even the toilet flusher 😀
We loved staying there and had a wonderful experience transporting us back in time in the dark ages, quite literally.
The lights are very dim, which personally I love. There were lots of candles everywhere which we used fully. There was a small fridge but no kitchenette to speak of, only a countertop.
If you plan on having drinks and snacks inside like we did while people watching on the "front porch" (read street) then make sure to ask the hostess to give you plates, silverware and glassware as they are NOT included in the staging of the property.
The hostess and check ING in process was very easy but do not be surprised if no one answers the phone as she was never in the office. We went in person to the office address and wait ones for her to arrive from checking some emails else in.
Our hostess was very friendly and smiling and accommodating, gave a very useful map and explained where we can...
Read moreSpent a week in Trullo Glicine whilst exploring Alberobello and the surrounding area. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Organic breakfast included each morning in Terra Madre was excellent, scrambled egg and courgette loaf were particularly good. Trullo was delightful with three conical roofs and steps up to a small terrace, great for a glass of wine in the evening. Church bells added to the ambience. This trullo is in the quieter part of the town, only a few minutes from the museum Trullo Sovrano, which is worth a visit. Microwave and hob in trullo but we didn't use as we found several excellent restaurants within walking distance. Toiletries, slippers, tea and coffee, free wi-fi all provided. Shower cubicle is triangular so not much room! Don't miss the viewpoint over Rione Monti in the evening as many trulli are lit with changing colours. Tourist shops all seem to sell the same items but several allow visitors to access their roof terrace for good views. Wonderful sights around every corner, very photogenic town. Highly...
