Mixed bag.
Positives: The restaurant was well decorated and clean. My wife's tuna tartar salad was very good, well plated, and a generous portion. The Pinse was perfectly cooked and very tasty.
Negatives: We walked in after checking the reviews to-date and the menu. They were moderately busy, but it took nearly 1/2-hour before anyone approached us to even take a drink order. My appetizer was a mixed salad, which was prepared in the prep area right in front of us. I first noticed the container of mixed greens looked wilted and the shaved carrots dried out and shriveled. While it was being prepared, I could see the chef removing pieces of rotten mixed greens. Then, as I started to eat it, I picked out about 10-pieces of rotted greens before I asked for the salad to be taken away. The manager who came over tried explaining that there was no problem because it was a "black salad." My wife and I were both amazed at that attempt! Fortunately there was no argument about the salad being removed from the check.
After paying the check in cash, as we continued walking down the street, our waitress chased us down and asked if we paid the bill. We explained that yes, we did, and that the manager both collected the cash and gave us change. My wife and I were both a bit puzzled by the lack of...
Read moreWe came without a reservation and got a table for two (in low season). We had the octopus as an antipasti. It came with mashed potatoes and was extremely delicious. The price is a little on the high side, but it was worth it. On our second visit, we would try the cold cuts platter with local meat and cheese, which looked pretty amazing. As a second course, we ordered the large (600 g) pinsa for two. One half with tomato/mozarella/basil pesto and the second half with prosciutto or Parma ham and a milky sauce. Both halves had an excellent flavour. Delicious. The dough was soft and the crust crispy. Plenty of salt in the dough, as it should be. So far the best pinsa I've eaten in Puglia! If you like pinsa, this is an absolute MUST. The service was very nice and helpful, especially with the selection. We didn't realise that you could choose two toppings...
Read moreWe were looking for a bite quite late in the night and so we searched Google. This place sounded good by reviews so we gave it a go and we didn't regret it. The atmosphere was very nice and we were accommodates without booking despite the restaurant being quite busy. We ordered three pinzas between four of us and we could barely finish it. Two would have been enough but we took what was left back home. Pinzas were delicious and the dough very light and tasty. There was an option to have the pizzas on brown dough but we opted for a classic ones. I would highly recommend this...
