Hotel Paola — Hotel in Altopascio

Hotel Paola is the ideal base from which to enjoy the many charms of Tuscany and its rich culture. The surrounding villages, towns and cities are very accessible from the hotel, it being a few minutes walk from the train station and providing off street parking to those driving. I've posted previously regarding the personal appeal of Hotel Paola, decorated to maintain its original ambience of a Tuscan villa. It has been renovated yet again since my last trip and is even more |attractive now. The beds are very comfortable and I slept well. Marco and Paola are, as always, professional, knowledgeable about local amenities and restaurants and so welcoming and friendly, going out of their way to help clients. The hotel continues to be maintained to an exceptionally high standard and is as always spotlessly clean. The addition of the breakfast room, tastefully decorated in the style of the rest of the villa, has enhanced the enjoyment of our stay this year. The buffet breakfast offering a comprehensive range of foods catering for every taste is unbeatable value. Marco is a wonderful host and took pains to provide a range of gluten free breakfast options for me. I have been staying at this hotel for a week every year for the past few years. The reasons I stay here is it is just beside a train station that allows me travel all around Tuscany very easy as I chose not to have this a driving holiday. My two companions and I just use this hotel as a base every night and as Altopascio has a few very nice Resteraunts that are very reasonable we can relax with a bottle of wine and eat locally every night. The owners of the hotel run it themselves and are very nice and accomodating so if you are not looking for a 4 star hotel that you are going to spend alot of time in this is your hotel. There is free car parking at the hotel but no sitting outside facilities so it really is only a hotel for someone that want to use it as a base at night and you have to go out locally for breakfast but lots of places...
